Indinia Hoosiers (occifail therad of dyslexia)

If I was a school like IU, i.e. had absolutely nothing to lose, I would have a paid app that let fans bid on the chance to call plays, live in game.

Generate some revenue, create some buzz, let your marketing people have a lot of fun at Brian Ferentz's expense...there is no downside to this. What the fuck you going to do, score less than 17 points again?
Problem is the Hoosier fan will keep trying to call Pick-and-Roll.

In the history of Indiana football the last head coach with a winning record was Bo McMillin (63-48-11) from 1934 to 1947. And he just had a .500 B1G record of 34-34-6. Hell, I'm one of the oldest guys on the board and I wasn't even born yet. Probably the most recent successful coach was Bill Mallory who went to 6 bowl games from 1948 - 1996; but he stil lhad a losing record of 69-77-3. Good thing that they are a "basketball school".........

Indiana coach Tom Allen fired, agrees to $15.5M buyout

Indiana reached national prominence in 2020, as the team went 6-2 during the COVID-shortened season and finished No. 12, its best finish since 1967 (No. 4). In March 2021, Indiana rewarded Allen with a new seven-year contract that increased his salary to $4.9 million annually and included a buyout of $20.8 million if the school chose to fire him before Dec. 1, 2023. The buyout would have dropped to about $8 million in 2024.

In announcing Allen's dismissal, the school said it had agreed to a $15.5 million settlement with the coach that will be paid over two installments.

Allen will receive one $7.75 million payment this year and another in 2024, an Indiana spokesman told ESPN. The amount will not be offset by future earnings, a source told ESPN, as his original buyout would have been.

I thought Kevin Wilson had them turning around, at least on offense.
And then his 2nd and 3rd string QBs transferred, the starter got injured, and it was all over.

His first year they were 1-11 and 6 years later they were 6-6. His teams never did have a winjning record.

They probably would have if that QB shitshow didn't go down how it was.
He was trending up. If we keep in mind, Indiana's ceiling is 8 or 9... I think he could have got there.
But the QB room imploded. And then an "investigation" materialized.
Got them to their first bowl visits in 10 years.
Tom Allen was doing about the same, until he fumbled Penix.

I was happy when Urban snagged Wilson. He knew what he was doing on O and got a bit unlucky.
I believe Day needs an OC like him again... suspect he was forced out bc Day refuses to delegate.
