Indians Tidbits (2010 season)

Big win tonight. Lots of fight in this team. They've already found ways to win more games late (2) than it seemed like they did all of last season (-145). This team isn't going to put 8 runs up much, so the pitching needs to continue as is. I like what I see from the starters sans Westbrook so far.

At least Smith and Sipp looked solid though. They both showed pretty good stuff, and were good if not for one pitch each. Too early to make any conclusions, but they seem much tougher than usual. A lot of grit for this early in the season.

Acta seems to have brought a different attitude in

quite the opposite of Dopey Wedge

my biggest complaint of this opening series..... I know the home plate umping this series was bad, but the plate discipline of this team is still shitty, there needs to be improvement there, too many times do they come to the plate and just hack at anything

The difference in the dugout right now is night and day. Under Acta, they actually show some guts. In the past few years, they would've folded when they fell behind 3-2. Also, look! They actually look prepared to play at the start of the season! Still gonna be a lot of bumps, but taking 2/3 in Chicago is a nice way to start the Acta era...

look at how well grady batting 2nd has worked. wedge should have done it last year, but didn't have the balls to move grady down a spot.

also, under wedge, kearns would be in the outfield every day instead of brantly and marson would catch every 5th day.

the only thing to consider is flopping peralta and hafner in the order to break up the lefty trio.

Jesus, WTF did he do, throw it into the parking lot?

 It's hard to picture where the runners were, but I was thinking the person on 1st would have only been able to advance to 3rd. I guess if he had already rounded 2nd, he could get home. Maybe they were running on the pitch or something.

Either that or the ball just rolled down the right field line forever. I guess it's also possible the ball got stuck in Marte's stupid, fat head, and he didn't know what to do besides run into the outfield and fall down.
