:slappy: 7-1 white sox already, delayed in the 4th, they picked up 11 hits off of Cliff Lee

it just keeps getting worse

This is a 100 loss team...minimum. Maybe the Nats will get hot at some point and we'll win the Bryce sweepstakes. Then they'll probably be to cheap to sign him.

yea this team will be picking in the top 5 at least (top 3 more than likely)

but knowing them they will fuck it up and probably take some Jeremy Sowers clone

Fausto with a solid start for Akron last night. In his two starts since being sent down, here are his numbers - 13.1 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 12 K. The starts were at low class A and AA but the 1 walk is encouraging. There have been times this year when I don't think Fausto could have thrown a strike with nobody in the box.

the issue with him, according to the coaches was that he was great in bullpen sessions and doing his side work, and even warming up, but he would just totally lose it once he was on the mound. and, it's not like you can say that real game situations make everything different, as he simply couldn't throw "get me over" strikes.

Bryce won't be in the draft next year, he has to wait til the 2011 draft.

Actually as long as we have the worst record in the AL we will have the 1st pick in the draft. Remember MLB has a weird draft rule, the AL/NL alternate for the 1st pick. So even if the Nats lost 162 games this year, they could only get the #2 pick as next year's draft an AL team gets the #1 pick.

And if you put two and two together... the Bryce draft of 2011 a NL team will get him. (if he goes #1)

BaseballAmerica.com: Prospects: International Affairs: Indians Prospect Faked Age, Identity

Major League Baseball has caught another high-profile prospect from the Dominican Republic misrepresenting his age and identity.

MLB's latest catch is Indians shortstop Jose Osoria, who signed for $575,000 last year on July 2. Indians assistant general manager John Mirabelli confirmed that Osoria's real name is Wally Bryan and that Bryan is 20 years old, three years older than he had presented himself. Bryan ranked as Cleveland's No. 30 prospect entering the season.

"We still like his ability," Mirabelli said. "We still like his talent. I'm not going to try to pretend there's not a difference between 17 and 20. There certainly is in terms of projection, but the fact of the matter is he isn't who he said he was."

Even though Bryan misrepresented his age and his identity, Mirabelli said that MLB has not suspended Bryan, who has been playing with the Indians' Dominican Summer League club. However, given that Bryan already falsified his documents, it seems unlikely that he will be able to enter the United States any time soon.

*awaits NFBuck and his feelings on leaving Sowers out there past 5*

That was when I still gave a fuck about them winning games. At this point, I hope they lose every damn game until Wedge is collecting unemployment. Actually, I want an absolutely embarrasing season in the faint hope that a major internal shakeup occurs.

Tribe acquires righty Abreu from Rays | MLB.com: News
CLEVELAND -- The Indians continue to bring in new arms for their beat-up bullpen.

On Thursday, the club acquired right-hander Winston Abreu from the Rays in exchange for right-handed relief prospect John Meloan. Abreu will join the Tribe's bullpen in the coming days, with a corresponding roster move to be announced at that time.

The 32-year-old Abreu has made 35 appearances in the Majors with the Orioles, Nationals and Rays since 2006, compiling an 0-1 record and a 6.43 ERA. He pitched in the Japanese Pacific League in '08.

Abreu, a fastball/slider pitcher, made two appearances for the Rays this year, allowing a run on three hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings. He was called up from Triple-A Durham on June 14 and designated for assignment last week
