Indians Tidbits (2007 Season)

because he was tried in that role several times and failed miserably each time.

Well, let's be fair here. Joe Blow now has 8 BS on the season, and two in the past two days. It might not seem appropriate to make a change late in the season, but Borowski is not getting the job done.... at all.

He would have to blow a couple in a row in the playoffs to get pulled at this point. If it gets to that point we are screwed anyway. Just hope he pitches well starting next week. Perez would me my choice if we had to pick a new closer.

i suggest you look at betancourt's numbers over the last 3 seasons in his role as a closer and compare them to borowski's. he makes borowski look like mariano rivera.

Well, if it comes down to Blowoski in the 9th, I will most definately be sharting myself. The guy is a trainwreck in the closer position. Hopefully the bats can get us 3-4 run leads with some solid starting pitching. If it comes down to our closer up 1-2 runs, we're in deep shit.

If he wasn't getting the job done at all he would not be the closer, not defending the guy for his poor performance the past few days but lets keep this in perspective....Jose Valverde who leads the MLB in saves has 7 blown saves.

I think we all realize that and he usually doesn't give up the winning run just the tying one. The major problem that I think we are all concerned about is that he is starting to give up home runs this we are headed for the playoffs. Hopefully, it was just the Seattle air.

looks like we are going back to our pathetic ways

2 on, not out, and no runs (against a shitty pitchers as well)

along with the bullpen meltdown last night

Also we've been playing guys that normally sit the bench so that our guys can get a little breather. Look for our offense to pick up again in the playoffs.

SEATTLE -- Jose Guillen and Jose Lopez each hit two-run homers to back Cha Seung Baek, and the Mariners beat Cleveland 4-2 last night to prevent the Indians from taking sole possession of the best record in the American League.
The loss keeps the AL Central-champion Indians (94-65) even with the AL East-leading Red Sox. Home-field advantage is at stake for the team that finishes with the best record. Cleveland closes with three games in Kansas City while Boston finishes at home with three more against Minnesota.
