Indians Tidbits (2007 Season)

Great series, Cleveland! You have a great team and will definitely be back next year.

Are any of your players free agents?
Not any of the everyday position players or pitchers. I believe that Nixon was on a one-year contract so he probably will be gone other than that I think everyone will be back contractually.

While I am not going to give up on my Indians, I guess my biggest disappointment of the postseason was CC. I do not think I would sign him in midseason, like we did Hafner, unless he would give us a "home team" discount. I don't know maybe he pitched too many innings this year as probably did Fausto and both of the Raffies.

With regards to Hafner, I wish they would have waited to sign him to that big of a deal until after this season. I know you got to get the big guys when they are ready but I just would have wanted to judge him a little bit longer.

The HGH and Byrd issue would have been nothing if it would have been released later this week or next. It was just a two bit stunt by a newspaper reporter who wanted to release the story of the biggest day for newspaper sales.

I will be with the Tribe until my last breath.

Boy, I'll hate to see you crybabies when the Buckeyes lose a game.

It's interesting that you made this leap Brutus1... I was thinking today after having cooled off overnight and much like the Buckeye's last loss, it's not THAT they lost, it's HOW they lost.

Much like the Debacle in the Desert last January, a team who had a great season and had the pieces in place completely failed to show up on the biggest stage when they need 1 win from games 5-7. The way I feel today is exact way I felt last January 9th...

Taking nothing away from what the 06 Buckeyes did last year or what the 07 Indians did this year, but when you end it the way it was ended, it's tough to think, feel, or enjoy the journey.

haha ain't goin to lie you don't wanna be over on any OSU sight when we lose we definatly bitch about it.. We HATE TO LOSE THATS FOR SURE!!

As always I'm upset we lost and we blew it Again but whatever I'm use to it and surprisingly this doesn't hurt like the past... The future is bright though with the tribe. I think if we can get a Right Fielder who can hit the ball we'll be just fine. We lack 1 more bat that can put fear into a pitcher. We could either Let Franklin take control in right/left or re-sign lofton. I say sign lofton, and let micheals go.

1.Sizemore
2.Cabrera
3.Hafner
4.Victor
5.(Free-agent)
6. Garko
7. Parralta
8. Lofton/Guetirez
9. Blake

what was obvious to me in the ALCS was that Boston's lineup was far too good to get it to go 1,2,3 every inning. We did it from time to time but they were so strong in the middle of the lineup that it was so hard to not walk a person or so. Meanwhile we had Hafner struggling, sizemore struggling. Only people hitting were Victor, and Garko. They were able to attack certain people on our team because they didn't fear the person behind them. Where as we were afraid to screw up to certain people because of fear of having men on for Manny, and Papi, also Youkalis.

They didn't fear anyone in our lineup besides Victor I think and that could be because Hafner struggled all year. If Hafner is swining a hot bat things might've been different, but we need one more bat. No one high priced or outrageous but someone that'll get you 20 HR and 80 RBI or so?

The picthing will be better next year.. Carmona will be stronger, C.C will have something to prove, westbrook will be healthy, Cliff Lee has a chance to get his act together, Maybe Sowers works problems out, Laffey is still an option, and of course we still have reliable Byrd. The bullpen will be better too when we get some of the people we had injured all year back as well.

1-2 more bats (depends on how lofton is) and I think we can seriously take it all next year.

BOSTON: The doorman at the Courtyard just off Boston Common heard I was heading back to Cleveland. He yelled down the street to have me stop.
''Hey now,'' he said. ''I tell you what. That team of yours has a bunch of great young players. They'll be back.''
He's right, of course.
