Indiana @ tOSU, Sat Nov 12, 12pm, FOX

You must be young if that's the best runn game you have ever seen.
I'm sure most will bring up option football etc but that's always going to go for 250+ a game. I'm just personally impressed by their ability to run the ball every game lately even when teams know they're going to run it. I think they do an outstanding job with the variety of run plays they have too. You never know who they're going to pull on a play and it makes them very effective. Doesn't hurt to have a back like Corum and also a mobile QB but their OL is very very good.

I know I talk about them a lot lately but they've really been impressive this year. Particularly late in games.

I know we can put a dent in them early. So I hope we jump on them early to force them away from what they want to do. With how beat up we are I'm concerned about a 4 quarter game vs ttun.

Big IF though considering the ttun game. Not a fan of the matchup personally but that's why they play the game.

It's a bad match up if its bad weather and Day insists on playing into everyone's hands by using heavy formations and telegraphing plays in short yardage. Even without JSN, OSU can stress their secondary quite a bit on every down.

Maybe it's stubbornness, but I have a very hard time believing Day and Wilson are content to limit themselves to 3 plays and one strategy.

Ttun will get yards in the ground. OSU's D isn't built to shut down single-minded power running games, but it doesn't have to keep them under 100 yards. Just keep them behind schedule, contain McCarthy, and patiently wait for opportunities to attack and get TOs.

Agreed and I think that's more so my overall concern.

We have built this expectation of "we need to run the ball even when they know where we are going to run it". Which has led to a ton of 3rd and short situations where we don't get the yards needed.

Just because something is the path to least resistance doesn't mean it's wrong. A first down is a first down and the overall concern for me is we are going to try to play their game. Then it becomes too late to switch the flip like last years game.

Our offense should just worry about what will work in a given situation and not worry about proving themselves. Who cares if we rush for 200 if it takes 50 carries to get there. So I think my overall worry is we just won't play our game which is to hurt teams no matter what they're showing (throwing when the LOS is loaded and running when it's light).

Please talk about The Game in The Game thread for the next two weeks - thank you.

We don’t want to have similar discussions in a bunch of different threads.
