I suspect most fans want to see improvements on D starting with the IU game and I do as well.
But I’m just as interested in watching the OL and am really hoping to see them start to impose their will in the running game. Getting that smash mouth running game going will be huge later in the year when facing stout D Lines.

Another side of it might be that he's just so happy that the August nightmare is over. I remember in 2014 he said at one point, " This isn't team team that you'll see in 2 weeks." Might be some of that in there too.

They are imposing their will in pass pro right now. They can't impose their will when outnumbered in the run game.
When and if a defense cheats too much to the pass, I have zero doubt that you will see the Ol maul some folks in the run game.
They are very good, no reason for concern about them imo.

If they outnumber you in the box, you either need to option one of them (running qb) or you need an Eddie George at RB who can reliably run someone over for 4-6 yards.
If they outnumber you in the pass rush, you need a qb with a quick release. Dwayne did this early vs PSU but wilted a little after some early drops. An alternative is to run screens and get the ball to the backs and wideouts quickly and with pinpoint accuracy to maximize yac. Dwayne did this to the tune of a QB rating in excess of 280 in the 4th quarter against a PSU defense that every analyst has said played their best game of the year.
OL is doing their job. There have been mistakes here and there, but they’re ahead of where they usually are as of game 6.

He's 6/15 in his career from 40+. 30/35 from Under 40. Pretty solid in the under 40 department but anything longer is a likely miss.

Probably is considered harsh. Yes, Farrell grabbed the facemask. However, any field goal attempt of distance, and I clinch just hoping that he's in the vicinity of the goal posts. As 11 says below...
If the Buckeyes don't move the ball within the 23 yard line, then the likelihood of even getting 3 points is rather low. I almost chuckle when I see the lines that designate the needed distance for field goal range.
I say all this as someone that can't kick and never has. I understand there's a lot that goes into it. I'd just like to see the young blood get a shot.

It's exactly why we went 5 wide and motioned the TE into the backfield with JT. Spreading the defense out further could also be a way to open things up. We have the WRs to do it too.
As for the kicking yeah anything over 39 yards is a major crap shoot. Love Sean but he's not been good once he hits 40 yards. Most not even being close to be honest.
That's the one position Id hate to be in too. Just so much pressure to make field goals that I couldn't imagine.

Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.
I thought it might be Shaun Wade (#24), until I read he was the one that got "burnt" (as in toast) on Hamler's 93 yard TD reception.
With that being said Shaun is just a rsFreshman with minimal experience and unlimited potiential. In a couple years he could easily be an All American.
Woody once said, "You're bound to lose one game for every Sophomore you start, because of their lack of experience"; however, that could have changed in 1968....
