That is probably the best comparison I've seen. Here's my problem with the douchebag ......He's Skip Bayless and Colin Cowherd.
My read on them, phenomenal execution, so so talent. When Michigan ditched zone and went man, IU could not longer scheme guys open. And that was probably the first time they played a secondary that had decent corners.
We have 2 of the best backs in the country and the new oline gets off on run blocking. They will see that number 1 run defense and take it as a challenge.
Yeah the two sides aren't functioning. There is always a slow start for either side. Bend but don't break works if your offense can perform, but that is not how things have gone. We have the talent if we start fast on both sides for once, we will race to a lead that not many teams can catch. But until we do it, it's just a wish.Yep. Great adjustments by Jim but it seems like teams are coming out breaking tendencies right away and it’s taking 1-2 series for us to settle down.
This is what’s going to decide our year imo. The offense also doesn’t function early it seems like and offers little in tempo. So one of two things needs to happen.
1. The defense needs to get a stop on the first two drives
Or…
2. The offense needs to operate with some fire.
I don’t get why we can’t do both but this year it seems like it’s been one or the other.
I've watched more than one Michigan team go from opening day clown circus to relevant by The Game. Think Brady Hoke's last two teams. Transfers and freshmen "get it" after 11 games. I think it will be a tight game until the fourth when the Buckeye D depth wears IU out.I agree that the impression the D gives you this year is that they give up far too many 3rd downs.
And yet they lead the conference in opponent 3rd down conversions at less than 32%. Imagine if they step it up because...
of this...
Every game from here on out is either a top 10 matchup or is The Game. Hopefully 6 straight games of must-win intensity.
As long as we're throwing out scores, I am honestly believing 31-16 right now. I believe Indiana is a really good team; by far the best the Hoosiers have ever had. And I think they're going to feel like it was worse than that score. I think the Buckeyes are going to maul them.
GPA!On any given Saturday.....Cignetti is not doing anything that he shouldn't be doing. Seem to recollect Tress on the basketball court, "in 360 days you're going to be proud..." and Buckeyeland ate it up. Same in Hoosierland. The negative stuff is a bunch of stuff, but hey, it got him an $8 million contract, with a hefty buy-out. Haven't exactly seen Indiana killing it on the (football) recruiting trail, so guess the recruits are a bit dubious. Their schedule isn't exactly hard, and they miss the B10 heavyweights (except for tOSU). But as the talking heads say, they are playing good team ball, so there's that. However, also read that with the expected tOSU loss, will plummet them out of the playoffs. Hard to say, but can see that path, or not, and getting into the playoffs as well. Article was about denying the SEC it's fourth or fifth team in playoffs, for the Indiana pretender and how dare they? Anyway, am glad Indy is in top 5, so tOSU won't go sleep-walking and throw down their jock strap and expect them to fold. Looking forward to this game. Would like to see tOSU come out strong, play strong for all 4 quarters, and go home with a decent win. Go Bucks!
I don’t think anyone has a problem with his basketball speech. It’s more his post game jabs and his boisterous attitude in pressers. On any given Saturday.....Cignetti is not doing anything that he shouldn't be doing.
