Indiana at tOSU, November 21st, Noon on Fox

No, but the shitty scheme with LB's covering guys out wide and not making any adjustments to stop crossing/pick/rub routes does. I don't like how they keep getting caught with their pants down with the 1-high safety look. You can't keep putting Hooker back there by himself. He just isn't consistent enough and is out of position a lot. IU exploited the trips and bunch sets all afternoon and it never looked like OSU had enough guys to cover what IU was trying to do (did do) to them. Dabo and Saban will have a feast day.

I'm not defending his performance as a DC today. I'm merely saying that today's bad performance doesn't prohibit him from pitching BIA to recruits

I would bet there hasn't been a team in history that has dropped after beating a top 10 team.

unless the pollsters were all really sleepy when they filled out their polls.

Tell him you're going to treat him to an expensive seafood dinner and then leave him with the bill.

or take him fishing....

Give it to Teague and get the hell out of the way.,or QB sneak not QB power unless it’s the conference or NC game.

QB sneak to me was the obvious call...literally has worked 100% of the time this year and no real chance of injury. That said, the play should have worked, Farrell was wide open at the end and Fields should have hit him.

Farrell wasn't even the primary receiver. Fields was in scramble mode and got popped as he released the ball.

The failure of that play was on whoever called it.

i am not giving IU credit for shit. Buckeyes were up 35-7 and quit. Fields played like he wanted to win a Heisman and not like he wanted to win a game. Day, honestly, play called like he was trying to win JF a Heisman and not like he wanted to win a game. took forever to prioritize the running game.
Coombs, I watched your arrogance burn you every fucking year at Colerain (save for 2004) in the playoffs. you refuse to give the other team respect and just try to will ‘what we do’ on them and it punches you in the fucking nuts every mother fucking time. And I also know your egomania has you scouring the internet to see what people are saying about you. so here is this: swallow your fucking pride and make adjustments to what the offense and game situation dictates. Be better or be gone.

The one-high safety is definitely not working with Hooker back there. I think it possibly could with Proctor, but I think the most likely fix is ditching the one-high safety scheme...we don't have a Jordan Fuller on this team, although Proctor is very talented. Also frustrated throwing LBs out wide...maybe Werner or Browning on a TE, but that is it.

The issue I would imagine is that we have tons of depth and talent at LB but not at DB, so its tough putting out 5 DBs when we have only 3 that you sort of can rely on. You have Wade, who is a talent that has had some struggles this year, but sometimes you get beat. Banks has had his down moments but overall I think he has done well and will keep improving. Proctor makes plays and overall he has played well. But that is really it in my eyes. Hooker has struggled to the point where I don't have any faith he will put it together this season. Williamson has greatly struggled and he's a senior. At this point, unless a combination of Tyreke Johnson (we really need him), Watts and/or Cavazos step up, I really don't know what the answer is. I guess there is Ransom and Shaw to try out at safety, but they're green...Ransom I was really high on as a recruit though. The answer might be that we have no answer and this will look a lot like 2018. I sure hope not but it could be. And it better not be, we've recruited too well at the position to have a letdown this big and Coombs has had success in the past.
