2026 IN WR Jerquaden Guilford is a Buckeye!!!

Yup! He's a luxury in OSU's class and a necessity in Ole Miss' and I can assure you that they're selling him as such. In their pitch, AND with their NIL offer. If he's committing to OSU than he took a MASSIVE pay cut in NIL
Honestly, losing guys to SMU and ole miss isn't that bad in the long run. 5 years ago or so, anytime we missed out on somebody, it seemed like they wound up at Bama, Georgia, etc. It directly aided OSU's direct competition, so double whammy.

Here? Whatever

Recruiting is starting to remind me of eBay auctions.

Interested parties will sit in the bushes and right before the auction ends they swoop in and catch the other bidders off guard.

At least Guilford is taking some time to think. I wish Wafle had done the same. There is no reason to rush into a committment (even one that is non-binding).

Which is why Wafle hurt. For a B1G contender to steal a blue chip from OSU was worth another couple hundred thousand on the USC bid. I can see that strategy playing out multiple times where OSU is up against a different school in each instance. Hazzard of being the big dog.

Yeah, with NIL now at a point where these collectives no longer are willing to just throw money at every recruit(save for a select few programs each year). From what I've heard the WRs outside of CHjr have(and have been willing) to take massively less in NIL to get coached by Hartline. Every school doesn't have that luxury.

Hartline's pedigree as college athlete, pro athlete is engraved in stone. His teaching chops are proven with all the first rounders littered in the NFL, and those guys are performing at high levels wherever they land. Yeah, believe I'd want my kid to be taught by a person like that. Again, nothing new here, just restating the obvious. Plus the opportunity to watch and learn from the players already in the program, as well as going up against in practice the CBs from BIA. What's not to like. But to a kid that mows lawns, rakes leaves, and shovels snow for spending money, big time NIL bucks are kinda hard to turn down. So, guess what I'm saying is that takes someone special to give up a few hundred thou to bank on the long term outcome at tOSU...
