In case you cared what grinds OhioState001's gears

Do you think it is accurate to view the scholarship agreement between a player and University as a contractual relationship, and therefore bound by contract law? Putting aside whether you think the alleged contract should, ideally, be more favorable to the player, is that an accurate view of the relationship?

I don't claim to have a clear answer to this; I would want to see the terms of the scholarship agreement before forming a confident opinion.
Interesting, how a player can sit out a bowl game for the draft yet get free travel, hotel, bowl gifts and that's not considered an improper benefit

os001's view appears to be that a handful of players sitting out an exhibition game is just a slippery slope to players sitting out all of their college careers. os001's view is a straw man.
I understood his view to be that players should never avoid playing for their college team in order to protect their future professional careers; and that he proposed the hypothetical Bosa scenario as an exaggerated case to make that point.

For whatever it's worth, I'm not particularly bothered by Ward's decision to play it safe, but I think some of you guys are going a little hard on OhioState001.

Not really, though Buckguy's baiting had a predictable triggering.

again i have to ask, are you naturally this stupid or do you work hard each and every day to master this level of stupidity? there is no stipulation that a player plays in game for him to be on scholarship. and how in the holy hell would free travel, hotel, and bowl gifts be an improper benefit? oh, lemme guess... you think denzel ward was looking for handouts. poli is leaking again.

How was I making a political point? I'm not the one who claimed the black kid can sit out because he needs the money but the white kid can't

Why should I freak out about something that shows no initiative, takes no effort, makes no difference.
I really don't know, to be frank.

I get the other political stuff but other than deep-rooted trolling, I can't imagine why a nice gesture to sick kids is so abrasive to you.

Most of the best things in life are small, and they mean the world to the recipient (often in ways the giver didn't even realize).
