Impending Assistant Coach Vacancies

No more retreads. It rarely works out. Fresh blood or else.

I think they need someone that is going to bring new or different concepts to the offense. I think Wilson's concepts are probably in Day's current offense. I thought Chip Kelly brought some new stuff and is known for being very curious about different offensive concepts.

I think someone new just needs to come in so that all the concepts from them and what are currently being used can be challenged and they can figure out what works, what needs to be improved, and what needs to be replaced with new concepts entirely.

By retreads I meant coached at OSU, left and are older. It hasn’t really worked out for the older coaches especially Ash, Combs, Travers Johnson and a few others. If it was someone who was like a QC or is very young and raw I’d be ok. Guys like Wilson never work out a second time around
I get it.

I just think Wilson's strengths (offensive line play especially) dovetail nicely with gaps that currently exist plus the personality and credibility thing I was talking about too.

Laugh out loud. If the current place speaks glowingly about someone, take heed. Could be they will say anything to get that person gone. Go back one or two places of employment and ask same questions. As they're already gone, no reason to hide anything. But with HR being HR these days, the answers could be very limiting. Hiring is still a gamble. What they accomplished at last place, might not occur in new one, for a variety of reasons. As a hiring agent, always asked myself - would I trust my job to this person's performance. Made some sketchy hires in my time, and paid for it....just looking to fill the slot.
