It’s sad and frustrating that even when confronted with the stark reality of a poor decision, that a parent refuses to learn and alter course.

This article makes me think of the discussion in the unintended consequences thread and the thought that some people are “dumbasses”. Although I am guilty of what @AKAK posted

the propensity for someone to think someone else is a dumbass for not agreeing with you... Regardless of the first persons belief system.

But at some point, people with a belief system are going to be viewed with a critical lense if they cannot adjust to their situation. Sadly, the consequences in this case fall more squarely on the child and not on the parent.

In the end, it boils down to people being unwilling to admit that they’ve a) been duped, and b) aren’t smarter than all the “sheep” who just “believe what they’re told”. A lot of these people didn’t do well in school and have small dick syndrome because of it. They HAVE to believe the conspiracies because otherwise they are exactly what everyone has always said they are. Yes, that’s harsh, but I have no sympathy for people who refuse to believe 200+ years of science. It’s just as voodoo as Scientology.
