Illinois Fighting Illini (you'll see)

Ah....Penn State. Where the fans think they're all members of the team.
At first, I agreed with you. But now I think it's the other way around. The fans think the team is a part of their cult.
And they were really offended that Bert didn't know what "white out energy" meant.

Since we're celebrating 100 years of Memorial Stadium on Saturday here in Illini Country, thought I'd dig up this gem for Throwback Thursday, probably our biggest win over those goofy winged helmet bastards in our history, at least in the modern era. (Full game is on YouTube, but couldn't find any good highlight videos, so a recap from WCIA will have to do)

My dad was at this game, he still tells me how epic this was to this day, hope some more memories are made this Saturday.

Fuck Michigan.

Fat Bert sure pulled another one out of his ass today
Illinois scored three touchdowns in the final 14 minutes to overcome a nine-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat Rutgers 38-31 on Saturday at SHI Stadium, completing the Illini's fourth fourth-quarter/overtime comeback win of the season (Kansas, Nebraska, Purdue and Rutgers).

Last-Minute Touchdown Sends #24 Illinois to Road Win Over Rutgers

A 40-yard Pat Bryant touchdown with four seconds remaining helped the No. 24-ranked Fighting Illini leave SHI Stadium with a 38-31 win over Rutgers on Saturday afternoon. Trailing with 1:08 remaining, the Orange and Blue marched 75 yards down the field to retake the lead after converting on fourth-and-13 for the game-winning touchdown.

Illinois scored a touchdown on each of its final four drives to complete the comeback.

Bryant finished with a career-high 197 yards on seven catches, including the game-winning 40-yard score. Bryant registered 166 receiving yards in the second half, including 140 yards on four catches in the fourth quarter. Bryant's 64-yard reception in the third frame was the longest of his career.

Bryant now has three game-winning touchdowns in the final minute or overtime this season, the most of any player in the nation.

What it means: This unbelievable comeback clinches this as one of the most successful and memorable seasons in recent Illini history. Illinois notched its 16th season of 8+ wins, just its third 8+ win season since 2002 and its second in three years. The Illini now will have a chance next week to win 9+ games in a season for just the eighth time in program history. Simply, the Illini have given themselves a chance to have one of the best seasons in program history. And with that, the Illini have set themselves up for a great bowl game — and to stay in the rankings for another week, helping the program build further momentum.

The win over Rutgers, which now cannot get to eight wins, sets up the Illini really well to make the Citrus Bowl, the most prestigious non-playoff bowl game for the Big Ten, as Iowa played in the Citrus Bowl last season and Minnesota — the only other Big Ten team with a chance at eight wins, plays Penn State and Wisconsin to end the season.
