Here’s the only thing…..they seem to be relying too much on Smith and becoming predictable in the pass game. He’s really good no doubt but what happens when they can’t pass to him?

The post game presser from Day seems to indicate that the scheme was the issue this game.

Sometimes coaches can make a bad game plan, and don't deserve a over reaching comment like "earn your paycheck".

Finkes is correct. He deserves respect, and to act like he is just coasting along and not giving a shit, is a insult, and is absolutely not true. Most championship coaches are their own biggest critics, and believe me, Day will be in that room this week.

Dinkes a nerd ass brokie who peaked at 22. Patricia is highest paid DC (or close to) in CFB. This isn’t a one off, however a culmination of previous results this season without 4 top 35 picks. Regardless, at his rate of pay it should never come to this.

Stats show that Jeremiah was targeted 16 times and caught 12 of those,

Others were targeted a total of 20 times and 15 of those were complete.

So Sayin was 75% throwing to JJ and 75% throwing to others, that doesn’t seem like a problem to me.

If course, I do hope he sees and hits the other guys when they’re open for TDs in the future.

Lots of bitching, moaning, and gnashing of teeth and I get it. The game was closer than the final score indicates, the defense had lots of issues (462 yards allowed; 25 first downs allowed; nineteen plays of 10+ yards, including eight of 20+ yards; no turnovers), and without Jeremiah Smith's epic performance (12 receptions, 217 yards, 4 TD) it might have been a loss.

Yes, it seemed like those teams were battle hardened, which really helped down the road. I was thinking about that. Last years team, arguably more talented just wasn't challenged and it showed.

There is one big difference which makes it considerably more difficult to win the NC. The conference is much much better, there is more parity as a consequence of the portal and NIL, and the schedule is longer.

If they can somehow pull through, I can foresee a special run in the playoffs.

Quick recap of the posters on BuckeyePlanet's message board.......a board that has a rule to not bash players/coaches/team. A board that has specific violations for Gameday threads. A board that, for some reason, allows for its own thread for bitching, whining, and moaning during games:

- Ohio State won a football game 42 - 19.
- Jeremiah Smith tied the record for most receiving TDs in a game with 4.
- Jeremiah Smith set a personal record of receiving yards and receptions.
- Julian Sayin looked elite throwing, and added some clutch runs that fans have been clamoring for.

The same fans you would expect spent the whole game throwing a hissy fit, because they didn't win every single snap. As if the other team was trying to win.

And again, the team we all love won a conference game by 3 TDs.

Maybe we should stop bitching and moaning about other members of the board as well. this entire game thread was either passive aggressive posting towards each other, or aggressive aggressive posting towards each other.
