The point is that it reflects Matta's lack of awareness of the need for rest. He's not only unwilling to rest his players during the game, he won't even let them rest when the game is out of reach!

Come tournament time he'll wish he'd have taken advantage of those minutes here and there.

Thad Matta is in his 11th year as a head coach in the NCAA. He has coached at three universities. He has won at least 20 games EVERY year as a head coach.

I think he is aware of his teams needs.

What it reflects is you're one of those "fans" who wait for the team to lose in the tournament so you can go "see? I told you," when the fact is every team but one fails to win the title.

You have no idea what the guys on the bench can do. Thad does. You have no idea how much rest the starters need. Thad does. Try enjoying a 26-2 team. Thad does.

Did you carefully look at the lineup the last 1:17? Sibert and Smith were in there, despite what some unofficial box scores might currently say.

Four of our players are going to have to be ready to go 40 every night in the tournament..I want them ready to go 40 and learn how to pace themselves during the game..Diebs Buford and Lighty know how to do it..Sully is still learning..
Yep. I loved that Buford was the go-to guy in the 1st half but had no hesitation in giving up the spotlight when Lighty was lighting it up in the 2nd. Shows how much these guys really buy into the team concept. As long as one of those two are hitting their shots this team can go far as it opens things up for everyone else.

Please fill me in on WHY you think you're suited to question a coach who has not won LESS than 20 games per year each year he has been a head coach?
Why not? This is a message board. You could print out every post that's ever been made here and not be able to sell it for a quarter. There's nothing on the line here folks. Questioning the coach isn't a deadly sin.

I haven't seen any indication that the team's morale needed boosting.

What I have seen are some the-sky-is-falling fans overreacting to two losses against good teams in places where opponents rarely win, or griping about margin of victory.

I do hope those fans are pacified by a 19 point win, but looking at this thread I suspect it still isn't good enough for some folks. Such is life.

Wow, lol, you are very but hurt over MY opinion. Its really not a huge deal man. Not everybody thinks a like - and a persons opinion doesn't judge their quality of fanship.
