If you could recommend one obscure CD

HTTR Forever.
If you reccomend one obscure CD/Album to people because you feel they are missing out on a masterpiece, what would it be?

For me it would be

Not many people paid attention to Savatage after Hall of the Mountain King. But this may be my favorite CD of all time.

Pink Moon is simply wonderful stuff. Shame that Drake went way of the deep end.

Another one from around that time -

And lastly - just for fun, from the early days of Branson's ever growing empire. Kevin Coyne's Marjory Razorblade.

Listening to "House on The Hill" persuaded someone I knew not to take a job at an asylum.

Swervedriver: Mezcal Head.

I listened to Nirvana, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, The Toadies etc etc through the 90s. Mezcal Head was one album I'd always wanted, but could never find. I finally tracked it down and bought it on eBay for over $20 two years ago.

It is the best album released in the past 15 years, IMHO. Blows everything else released in the 90s out of the water.

I'm going on year three and it has not left my CD player in my car since the day I got it.

I used to listen to Savatage- my favorite albums were Sirens and Power of the Night.

Cool band....

Oh my gosh, I didn't know anybody else had ever heard of those guys -- I first heard them on the game "Road Rash" on the 3DO in HS and have been a fan ever since. "Duel" and "Duress" are a couple of my all-time favorite songs (and the albums "Raise" and "Ejector Seat Reservation" are pretty good too, though not quite on the level of Mezcal Head). Great call!

The Odds - Bedbugs

You may have heard Heterosexual Man which was a minor hit in the early 90s and the video even made an episode of "Bevis & Butthead." The music might be best classified as "power pop."

I know the request is for "one" album, but I'll list a few more obscure ones that are staples of my collection:

Big Head Todd & the Monsters - Sister Sweetly
The Why Store - Live at Midnight
Freddy Jones Band - Waiting for the Night
and rounding out my top 5 "obscure" albums...
Van Halen - Fair Warning (the band is not obscure but this is their worst selling album and my favorite from the Roth era)

Saw them open for the Smashing Pumpkins back in 94? The were one of "the Buzz" bands MTV was promoting at the time. Wasn't that impressed. I had wiped them from my memory until I saw this.
