Mud: While I didn't pick him myself, the fact that he is a 6-3, 190lb, safety with 4.5 speed makes him quite an attractive prospect. Thomas Matthews will be gone, Nate Salley and Tyler Everett will be seniors, and Donte Whitner will be a junior when AMW is a freshman. The only other safeties we'll have on board will be Curt Lukens (RS sophomore) and walk-on Wes Scott (true sophomore if he doesn't RS this season). If AMW is as good as advertised, he could see the field as a true frosh as a two-deep and be a starter as a true sophomore in 2006. The fact that he is a 5-star prospect rated as one of the top safties in the country helps out, too.

Here is my explanation

Could some explain why they picked AMW?
I doubt this is what you are looking for, but I picked AMW because I didn't understand the question. I interpreted the question as if I had to bet which would be the most likely commitment to OSU. With that said, I would think AMW is our best chance. If I could select who I would like to see commit to OSU, then I would go with M. Wells because the importance of the running game to OSU's offense. In my opinion, OSU just needs an intelligent QB who minimizes mistakes, not necessarily a top-notch arm.

I agree with your post concerning the impact of Qb's to a point but I'd have to say that a team can never have enough 4 & 5 star linemen.
This is where great offenses are made.
It's been prooven by the 2002 Buckeyes(and quite a few others) that an average Qb can win National championships.
Give me a run stopping defense and a dominating offensive line and I'll be hard to beat.

That makes sense and thanks for the response 94. AMW just seemed like a strange pick considering our depth in the secondary and having choices like Wells, Sanchez and Doering available.

MB: I agree with you, AMW is a great prospect and I certainly hope he picks the Buckeyes, I just feel like other players we are in on would better suit our needs at this point. People are entitled to their opinions though, believe me, I just wanted to know people's reasonings.

I went with Wells. MC showed what effect a great RB can have on Offense. Plus, with Coach T's Offensive philosophy, you can win with an average to good QB. I'll go with a break a way RB any day. And if Wells is as good as Conley indicated, then that's the person I would want in my backfield.

Go Bucks!

You forgot about Sirjo Welch and Nick Patterson.

I voted for AMW for the same reason. And I also agree with you about the running game. This offense, and just about any other for that matter, needs an impact RB for it to work the way it's designed. Look at the difference in the same OSU offense with and without Mo.

Get an impact running back and watch the Bucks Go!

perhaps BP should close this poll and declare a winner, then do a mid-season recruiting poll. Set that for a certain date, until say sometime in early December. You could then do a late recruiting season poll with remaining prospects.

just an idea. you may want to only do one more poll since it is likely osu could get a wave of commitments between 11/20 and early december leaving only a few spots left.
