He might police players more closely than Tressel did, but at what cost? College kids shouldn't have bad choices removed from their list of options. That might help with NCAA compliance, but it doesn't help anyone become a useful adult. Players should be taught to make better decisions and face tougher consequences.

He's not their classmate following the "don't rat out your friends" code. He represented the entire university, was paid well to do it, and had a responsibility to that university first and foremost.
Unfortunately, he failed to live up to that responsibility by apparently doing nothing when he received the infamous emails. As an alum, I'm extremely disappointed that he chose that course of inaction.

I find it pretty stand-up that JT took the fall for some stupid decisions the players made.
With all that going on, I can't believe TP had the gall to show up in yet another vehicle.
You figure, even if it was on the up-and-up, to at least put it off a couple of months so as not to draw attention.
 here's to landing on your feet, with a superb coach.
Don't be creeped out, but...

Go ahead and read it. I wouldn't post it if it was another hatchet job on OSU/Tressel. It's a good piece.

Anyone who feels real moral outrage when reading the Sports section has almost certainly skipped the News and Metro sections.
