I give up. This board is too hard to understand.

Ah the obligatory board pr ick. No thanks, I'll use the ESPN OSU board. It is understandable without having to take a course on it.

Thanks.

I guess that makes you the newguy dumbass who would rather see an entire community change than learn the basic rules that have been in place since the board's inception.

Good luck on ESPN....don't let the door hit you in the ass.

AN ODE TO THE SEARCH FUNCTION
by Tyrone Greene (adapted by shetuck)

Search function, search function, search function, search.
Why dost thou our noobs' names so often besmirch?

You're sneaky, you're wiley, you're awefully sly.
Only once in a great while while you'll help out a guy.

But we're 'trothed to your ways, in any such case.
Oh search function, oh search function, oh search function...

...do he bite?

Is there a way to view all the posts in the thread sequentially without having to return to that crazy outline each time?

By clicking on new posts or bpSpy, you can see what's been covered already and work your way back. You can also assume that any current players or recruiting targets already have their own dedicated threads. If you pull up the Buckeye Football forum and search thru the threads, you should find plenty that interests you. Hope this helps.

Wow. I'm having a hard time understanding how this board can be percieved as "difficult" to understand.

Each subject/player has their own thread. If you prefer the jumbled mess that are the scout/bucknuts/ESPN (:slappy:) boards with 25 posts floating around of the same thing, then have at it. To each his own. Those are far more difficult to navigate if you ask me. This board has clearly marked subforums and consolidated threads...much, much easier to find information.

Seriously, how can anybody think of this site as being so hard to navigate that they feel they need a course on it.

Apparently the site's navigation and thread organization didn't prove too difficult to find BP's own *little* treasure chest, though...

Dang, that beats exercise anyways.

I guess it all depends how badly you want the info...

hang in there fred... it took me several years to understand how this board works... once I got the hang of tapping on these buttons in front me and making words appear on the screen it got a lot easier.... and then I started reading from left to right and that cleared up a whole heap of problems I was having.... technology is amazing.

don't you think a board with over 1,000000 posts already had a thread on Henton to contribute too? Although "bad luck for him" was a groundbreaking post that deserved a new thread :roll1:

Yea see I was trying to help you out but then you got bitchy about it to regular board members. Enjoy your rubies.

Given our traffic numbers...I'd say its pretty user friendly.

How about fitting in with what we do instead of tossing a blanket over the whole site?

You started a thread concerning a subject we have had running for 3 years now. It was merged to keep the board clean...and thus more user friendly.

Linear Mode Display. That should be your default for new users. Everyone understands that. They can choose your outline display anytime. Not sure I understand the merging of threads with 8 users on the board. Might make sense in September I suppose.

Thanks for the advice...however, we like our little board the way it is.

Not sure where you are seeing 8 users...but we average about 10k unique views per day. Currently there are 161 users viewing threads...the point of merging threads is to keep the discussion in one single place instead of 8 different threads discussing the exact same subject.

I think your default display is set to Fucking Moron Display...

I guess I'm just having trouble seeing how clearly labelled subforums and threads is such an issue. The way the board is set up by default is quite easy, I've never had much trouble with it, even when I started, and I'm a moron when it comes to computer stuff. The 8 users must be in one thread because I never see fewer than 100 registered users on the forum outside of the wee hours of the morning.

I guess some people just like the multiple thread on one subject format of the scout/rivals/ESPN (:slappy:) boards. I don't know why, it drives me crazy. Everything here is nicely consolidated to make it plenty easy to find info on any given player/subject.

Uh-oh, batten down the hatches, Mili's viewing the thread.
