I don't give a darn about your indie bands

Honestly though, I would say the exact opposite of what DontHateOState said is true: most typically, a jump to a major label precipitates a decline in the originality and often quality of the music. JMO.

I really wasn't speaking about the quality of the music as it goes forth after being signed by a major band; more or less, I was looking at the societal trend of indie bands becoming popular and losing their original audience because they are no longer obscure.

many "indie fans" like indie music because it allows them to be different.

Come on you can tell us that you have a man crush on John Mayer we won't laugh that much...:susp:

There are few people I can't stand more than John Mayer.

He's at Mark May level for me. I'm not sure what I'll do if I ever hear another one of his songs in full. I'd rather listen to Lou Holtz and Petro Papadakis sing MMM Bop than hear John Mayer again.

I hate him.

I agreed that what really matters is what you like, not what you are like. Books, records, films--these things matter. Call me shallow but it's the fuckin' truth, and by this measure I was having one of the best dates of my life.
