I could use some help...

BuckeyeFlorida

Resident Science Dork
I've got DSL running to a wireless router and two computers running wirelessly are fine, but the desktop that is wired to the router is having some serious serious issues (i.e. - running slow, not being accesible to the wireless machines, etc...). I ran ipconfig on the "troubled" computer and got some information back about two Tunnel adapter Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interfaces. I've never seen these before... anyone else? Does this indicate a viru?

Thanks in advance for the suggestions!

I wouldn't worry about those interfaces. They appear to be tied into a MS upgrade for the OS or IE. It's possible that you might have a virus or even that someone is stealing your bandwith and possibly hijacking the box. I just overheard one of our network guys telling someone that it would be pretty easy to screw up other PCs if he got into their home networks because the security was never set.

Also, when in doubt, reboot.

Good point on someone hacking your bandwidth.

Did you change the security settings on the router from the original?

Also run the usual spyware, adware, trojan, virus scan to see if you have any undesirables.

Thanks - Problem Solved

I has mistakely installed Microsoft TCP/IP version 6 and that was messing me up. I also just wiped the system clean and started from scratch since it's not my primary computer. Runs much much better now!

Thanks for all of the advice!
