its not anger, its frustration. everyone seems to think that adding a 12th team and a "championship" game will somehow fix some magical problem. A. there is no flippin problem! B. assuming there were, there is 0 proof (and much to the contrary) that a 12th team and a so called "championship" game would solve said magical problem. the ou and ksu game is a perfect example of why championship games don't work as they are implimented in the college environment. it has nothing to do with the big 12 other than the fact that the big 12 happens to be the conference mili's example came from.High Lonesome said:well im sorry that you have managed to build up that much anger while in hawaii, but i never said or ment to imply that the big 12 has the best system. I am not a fan of the divisions that the big twelve has, and i do think that it is rediculous that kansas state would even get the opportunity to play ou for the "title".
and what happens when the big ten season ends and there are 3 7-1 teams? do you have 2 big 10 championship games now? what happens if you have 1 8-0 team and 5 4-4 teams? do you have 5 big 10 championship games?I prefer to have the two best teams in the confrence play each other regradless of geographic location.
iowa comes to twon 9/24 and plays um at home 10/22High Lonesome said:if you get rid of the divisions and play the two best teams then you get rid of any doubt about the champion. The reason that it is better is that you cannot have everyone play everyone in a confrence every year, the championship game elliminates talk of "easier" scheduals,(ie iowa missing osu and mich next year) will you really be able to look someone in the eye and call iowa the big 10 champs if the go undefeated next year in confrence?
