Huntington buys naming rights for Clippers' proposed stadium

The Columbus Clippers' proposed new stadium has a name: Huntington Park.
Franklin County officials are set to make an announcement at noon that they've sold naming rights for the team's new Arena District ballpark to Huntington Bancshares Inc.
The Clippers plan to open their 2008 season at the new ballpark.
County sources didn't divulge terms of the deal, but commissioners this morning approved an agreement that gives their nonprofit corporation, Franklin County Stadium Inc., authority to enter into contracts with ballpark sponsors.
Commissioners announced plans last spring to replace the Clippers' 74-year-old Cooper Stadium with a new $55 million ballpark just west of Nationwide Arena.
They've since purchased land at Nationwide Boulevard and Neil Avenue.
