Hugh Freeze (HC Auburn)

Really thought the Tunsil thing was a one-off for this school. Crazy to think there could be more.
From 2003 to 2012, Ole Miss signed 266 players with an average star rating of 2.94 (class range from 2.54 to 3.17), for an average class rank of #27 (class range from #17 to #41).

In 2013, Hugh Freeze shows up and signs the #7 class in the country with three 5* (Laremy Tunsil, Robert Nkemdiche, and Laquon Treadwell), nine 4*, and an average star ranking of 3.56.

Just one of them coincidences....

Yeah. I mean, what 5-star WR from Chicago doesn't grow up dreaming of playing for Ole Miss?

And to reinforce why it pays for schools like Ole Miss to cheat, here's the cycle.

1. Suck ass.
2. Cheat like crazy.
3. Most athletic success ever.
4. Maybe get caught (fuck you NCAA).
5. Maybe get hit with meaningful sanctions (fuck you NCAA).
6. Suck ass.

They have nothing to lose, and the prospect of the NCAA being effective is certainly worth the risk for a few years in the sunshine.

“The athletics department takes full responsibility and holds itself accountable when situations occur with our student-athletes. We will support Jordan to the fullest during this time and look forward to seeing him return to the field.” NCAA rules (pg. 165) say a student-athlete entering his or her fourth year academically “shall have completed successfully at least 60 percent of the course requirements in the student’s specific degree program.”

ya know, i can understand a certain level of human error in most things. but when they printed up his transcripts and he had 2 classes listed, one of which he had failed.... no one thought, "gee, this is somewhat problematic"? but i do like how the athletics dept. is taking full responsibility and plan to "support" jordan. with what specifically? figuring out a way for him to successfully complete upwards of 2 full years of college in a month? well, sec speed n whatnot. i withdraw my statement. carry on.

Especially if you're a private school that laughs at FOIA requests.
