Very messy today - several inches of sleet and snow. They closed the schools here for the second time in less than a week - we got about 10 inches of snow last Thursday/Friday. They hadn't closed them at all for the previous 7 or 8 years.

No kidding. Earlier today I was on the phone with Manfred (who is in Tucson) and told him about the huge snowball-sized flakes that were falling, and then five minutes later it was sunny, and then 1/2 hour later it was thundering!
