That's more snow than I've seen in a long time. And you're in Louisiana. And I'm (we're) in Ohio. Nuts.
we typically get a shit ton of precipitation down there.
moisture from the gulf just dumps on us all the time.

typically either the cold gets to us first and pushes that moisture back out into the gulf.
or more commonly, the moisture gets there first and keeps the really cold to our north (so we get mid-40s and rain) and dries up.

this time, they kinda collided right on top of us.
so we got temps colder than we normally do combined with the moisture.

some reports are over 12" in parts of Terrebonne Parish.
for those that don't know, that is literally on the gulf. Other than the extreme end of the river and Grand Isle, it's not possible to be farther South in Louisiana than where we live.
My house is farther south than Gainesville, FL or San Antonio, TX

just insane to get anything even remotely close to that.
