10 below zero right now in central Montana. I think that is supposed to be close to our high for Mon., with a low of -20 or worse for tomorrow night. I will keep the stove cranking. I know the mid-west and east have had their share of true winter this year as well.

For the first time sice we began keeping a flock, I'll be putting my chickens in the garage tonight through Thursday with a heater. 10+ below is too cold in their unheated coop. Besides, one of our hens is molting right now and only has ~1/2 her feathers. :(

A heat lamp or two in their coop will work just as well!:wink2: Just picked up two at Jax for a total of $35. Better than filling your garage with chicken crap!
