Heads up this week for a MAJOR winter storm in the Midwest. Heavy snow in NW OH back to Chicago, significant icing between indy and columbus and down to cincy also possible. (.5-1 inch of ice range)

It still has 48 hours to hopefully change course and bring mostly rain to central ohio, but not looking good as of now.

Another update for those near Chicago or traveling through this week, they are now under a blizzard watch and can expect anywhere from 2-3+ feet of snow. WGN just showed their forecast of 37 inches at ohare.

Still too early to know about the snow/ice/rain amounts in central ohio. Looks as though it will start as freezing rain, then who knows...

What is this "snow" you speak of? It is 76 and sunny outside. See?

1.95" of QPF in snow form at a 20:1 ratio= 39.2 inches
1.69" of QPF in snow form at a 20:1 ratio= 33.8 inches

Not saying that you're definitely going to see 20:1 ratios, but it's not out of the question. Chicago is going to get DUMPED on with this system....you better buy it lol

Absolutely HORRIBLE set up for Columbus.....one inch of FREEZING rain......no thanks :sick1:

Yeah, KCVG(Cincy) and KILN(Wilmington) showed almost 1.5 inches of freezing rain. Hope the 0z runs dont show the same in a few hours. If the runs keep trending colder, there wont be enough rain to get rid of all the ice buildup before it changes back to frozen precip.

Indy looks like it could be the big loser out of all this with major ice and snow totals

Talk about a "Welcome Home" gift from the weather! I come back from Central Florida and what do I get? A freaking blizzard. Great. Hopefully the worst of it stays in the Chicago area and doesn't work its way to the Fort Wayne area. 6-12" is livable. My gf's family in Mass has snow piled up to the roof of their garage.
