How the coaches voted...

Spurrier also voted TTU way up, must like their style
whoever bobby wallace is he voted ND 13.

I think Randy Walker is on our side. He put Oregon at 9, didnt rank FSU GT, or clemson. Had scUM at 16, his own team at 21, Iowa at 22. Seems like a regional thing.
Tressel and Tiller obviously likes the big10
Bob Petrino didnt rank scUM at all.
Tom O'brien put Oregon at 4 and VaTech at 5?
Pat Hill didnt rank his own team or scUM
Whoever Art Brilles is he voted Tulsa ahead of Okla, Iowa, and scUM
Phil Bennet has Oregon at 15?

Bobby Wallace is (er was) at Temple. Obviously he knows his football. :wink2:

Art Briles is from Houston.

Anyone who ranks us out of the Top 5 is definitely on something....Here are the coaches who obviously don't believe that tOSU is a top 5 team.

Ken Hatfield #10
Skip Holtz #10
Larry Blakeney #9
Dennis Frachione #9
Houston Nutt #8
Tom O'Brien #8
Frank Solich #8
Steve Spurrier #8
Bobby Wallace #8
Dan McCartney #6
Larry Coker #6
Pat Hill #6

Also Phil Bennett thinks Oregon should be ranked at #15...wow!!!

John L Smith must still be thinking that his coaches lost the game in the Shoe since he has ND 4 and OSU 5.
That is pretty weak. He probably figured that his loss to OSU was less significant since he only coaches his team through September every year. :bonk:

Let's look at the computer polls:

Billingsley computer:
Georgia 4
Auburn 5
LSU 6
Ohio State 9
Oregon 11
Louisville 16

Michigan was 9th in 2 computer polls and 22nd in another
TCU was as high as 12th in one poll and as low as 27th

Nah, I don't think they are morons. Rather, you are just seeing a few cases of the crap that has characterized the polls, with coaches voting for themselves and key opponents/conferences. Coker won't make the mistake in his last poll again.

To make this system a bit better, they also should publicise who voted for whom in the first poll. Then, we'll have less of this gamesmanship from the start.

How the hell do some of these people justify their ranking.

Whoever Ken Hatfield is the coach from Rice, and also the coach from Troy St. Voted us 9 and 10. WTF.

While the same guy Ken Hatfield voted Oregon at 4.

I would think if the coaches wanted to that they could vote for friends just to mess with things.

I also find it funny that the Ole' ball coach has Notre Dame at 14.

Also funny that a team like Rutgers has one vote and it came from their coach.

Charlie has some interesting things to say about Spurrier's NFL adjustments.
Dont think Steve liked it much.

I was surprised that Mack Brown had UT ranked at number 2.

Not trying to call you out here, just using your statement as a talking point.

It drives me insane that people think that Mack Brown is some underhanded, Power hungry, conniving person. I guess it comes from the pleading with the voters last year, but he has said all year that he was voting USC #1 until they lost. Last year he voted us as #4. Yet I still hear all the time about how Mack is voting this way, or Mack is a lier and so on and so forth. Just had to get that off my chest. I feel better.
