Going through the awkward and not fun "we just hired a new manager, watch him screw everything up and kill moral to flex his 'managerial muscles' while everyone jumps off the sinking ship that is ********* Insurance"

If I didn't have numbers to meet, I'd be a relative vegetable by now. I'm not only bored with it, but also hearing "no" in every way and language imaginable, most of them either in a fake patronizing tone (complete with putting a hand on my shoulder, even more insulting/invasive) or obviously intentionally insulting/flat out ignoring has a tendency to make one want to shut down after a certain point. This job has more than served its purpose of getting me back to Orlando with enough money to get by, but I can't seem to make the jump to the next level, or even laterally.

What are you doing at the moment? (for a living where you hear "no" in so many languages)

I am definitely devoid of all interest in my position and company. I have been trying hard to find a new position for some time now. It has been a struggle for sure. One of the problems is that I have wandered from my professional certifications/background with my current job and have become kind of swiss army knife of skills. I feel like that has hurt my possibilities and has pushed my career way off track.

And boom goes the dynamite. More than I expected, which is nice.

Now, I just have to keep my sanity through the next month or so while close out 2013 and get everyone prepared for their audits.

In college I worked on the grounds crew of a golf course, would have been the perfect job, except all the golfers getting in the way of doing my job. (And keeping me from smoking weed)

Evidently we hired enough people recently that I'm pushed down to 2 days a week. Wonderful. At least the good news is that most people hate the job, so I should be back to 3 days in a few weeks. That would also be why I've been looking like crazy for an out the last few months.
