How does work make you feel today?

I frequently imagine how everyone would react/what exactly would happen if i stood up from my chair, walked calmly to the little strip of a hallway between me and 3 women, lifted the heavy metal wheeled chair over my head and started beating these women with it. I think they hate each other enough that as long as I only attacked one at a time they would each cheer until it was their turn.

We have this little old Mexican lady that does the floors. Everybody is terrified of her. If she's waxing a section of floor you do not pass. he screams at you. If you have business to conduct on the other side of the floor you wait. Well not everybody. I had to take a dump this morning and there's only one route to the bathroom from my area. Guess who was waxing the floor? My bowels wait for no one. Sorry bitch.

Just started my new job on January 14. Honeymoon phase is still going strong. The relocation was chaotic as hell, but it's gone smoothly. Whowouldathunk that I'd fly a little over 2800 miles southeast to get my first snow fall and sub-freezing temperatures of this winter. :shake:

Am I allowed to like my job? I don't get paid a lot, but I fuckin' love it. I was at work for nearly 11 hours today and it felt like about 30 minutes. :)

And I get a lot of free stuff.
I'd trade for this in a heartbeat.

My job isn't terrible. In fact, it's probably better than most out there. I just don't like it. At all. I've taken some first steps on a change though so I'm feeling good about that. Doesn't make the time here pass any faster though...

I just wish I had a job :(

Come to Indiana. According to one of our illustrious state reps, a former HR director, they can't find good people here.

My response to that is, then you aren't looking very hard. Maybe if they put the HUMAN back in HR, got rid of those fucked up resume scanning software programs, and actually did what an HR person is supposed to do, there wouldn't be so many underemployed people around here.

Bingo! The pre-employment questionnaires in online apps are fairly easy to "game" if they're not timed, and also kind of useless in terms of really understanding someone because of how narrow and simplistic the options are.

Show evaluations are maddening, but otherwise a pretty decent day. It makes a world of difference when you have a manager who recognizes and reminds you of your performance and worth to the team, and really wants you to succeed even if it means losing you to another area (in a place with 60k+ people, there's a lot of shuffling that goes on between areas). Still, I like an opportunity that popped up, so hopefully I get an interview and it is at worst a lateral move, hopefully slightly vertical. Regardless, working in so many different roles is a good thing here, so lateral is as good as vertical.
