I can't stand my new manager. She's one of those that comes in and changes as much as they can just because everything has to be their way even if it worked perfectly fine for years before. Oh, and she's also a neat freak and a dept. safety rep who refuses to think of the workspace for my role as my workspace and keeps complaining about how I have things arranged and whatnot. Also never has time to actually learn what my job is and really entails, so all the changes she insists on making that shouldn't be changed you have to tell her multiple times before she finally understands...if you're lucky.

Ugh, I can't get a new job fast enough between her and just generally needing a full time gig.

I'm sure there are plenty of women that aren't shitty bosses, but I've yet to meet one.

Feel more and more like my job is likely to be on the chopping block if the annual layoffs of the last few years come around this fall with how suddenly the higher ups want my entire department trained on my job, and it makes me a little pissed off and more than ready to just check out. Oh, and getting ghosted by a recruiter on an interview opportunity also has me a bit pissed off on the job search front. If you're not interested, why the fuck did you offer me an interview slot to begin with? At least give me the damn interview instead of wasting my time and your HR secretary's while I try and follow up.

I work in accounting for a decent size retail company but man I am getting burnt out on the office job scene....been researching ways to scale back my work hours since my wife's job has her travelling (and she actually likes it) so that i can take care of the kids and house more....obviously the $$ is the biggest factor. anybody have any experience in downsizing their workload aka going part time/consulting etc.? I'm already registered with a permanent placement firm and they know exactly what i am trying to do so I at least have someone already looking for opportunities. I plan on keeping my FT gig until at least beginning of 2019 to get some things paid off but after that.....man i really hope I can make this happen because i am starting to feel like this...

Maybe find a job where you can work remotely at the hours you dictate.
