Unfortunately I work at the front desk of a resort club. So I'm dealing with people for all of those 15 hrs. Only break I get is a quick run to the potty.

Have you considered murdering any of the clientele? I always find that to be a most excellent way to take some of the stress off.

A lot of people end up working ridiculous hours for various reasons. I remember working a couple 72 hour weeks and heading home feeling elated it was over. Did great till I hit one stop light 4 miles from home. I passed out and must have sat at that light for a half hour or so. That scared me enough to make me start thinking about the stupidity of what I was doing. It changed everything.

The Ohio State University Columbus campus will remain OPEN today (2/7/18). Please use caution while traveling.

Franklin County has declared a Level 2 Snow Emergency. The City of Columbus and State of Ohio are prioritizing highly traveled routes. While City of Columbus roads near the university remain snow covered, university crews continue to clear campus roads. Ohio State Facilities Operations and Development crews have been hard at work since 2:30 a.m. to prepare roadways and sidewalks while CampusParc clears parking lots.

The university weighs many factors when deciding to remain open, including the safety of those driving and walking to (or on) campus. We recommend that everyone dress appropriately for the weather and use caution while traveling.
Freaking penny pinchers! OSU used to follow Columbus Public schools but has been totally refusing to call snow days for years now. Oh yeah, I'm so sure FOD has done a real bang-up job on those campus roads and sidewalks this AM :roll1:

Just don't get that. Tons of students, and certainly faculty and staff, do not live on campus in walking distance of classrooms. How do they justify putting people's lives at risk? They call off school because it's too dangerous to be on the damn roads.

been a roller coaster last 12 months.

one year ago tomorrow, i was forced out of the office in a coup that i didn’t see coming.
well i saw it, but it was aimed higher than me, and i was the fall guy.

was given a choice of back on my tools in the field or unemployed. Looking for work down here hasn’t been a good place for quite some time now, so swallowed my pride and did what i had to do.

first few weeks was brutal. no longer on salary, and work was scarce, so i wasn’t making any hours. had no choice but to head west and get on a long term project out of state.

just under 10 months in Tejas (multiple cities, but mostly Houston area). spent last few weeks of 2017 offshore. have only worked sparingly since Christmas. Was holding out as long as i could financially before heading even farther west (New Mexico) for the foreseeable future.

then i got the phone call.
upper management wanted to see me.

offered an office spot again. not the same position i had but it’s back in the office.
home every night. “off” on weekends.
back on salary.
so 3 days shy of 1 year later, i’m back in the office. and some of those coup leaders are no longer employed with us (i personally was able to run 2 of them off)

Salary will be a pay cut from what i made last year.
But i don’t need the money that bad.

spent almost an entire year bouncing from hotel to hotel to an apartment.
working 90-95 hours every week, outside regardless of weather.
was on night crew entire time.
missed my son’s entire baseball season.

the money just wasn’t worth that anymore.
not to me at least.

glad i did it. was a good experience.
learned i wasn’t 18 anymore and that money ain’t everything.

i actually already knew those things, just wasn’t going to admit it to myself.

Happy to see virtue triumphed eventually. Hope the rewards keep coming for you.
