Good stuff
@zwem
I wrote a similar email about 2 years ago; I work for a Fortune 500 company and sent my email to the head of the west coast. I was lucky enough that we were both living in Cali at the time but both are from the same area in NE Ohio so it was a small world when we were introduced.
I had attempted to transfer back to Cleveland for 6 months and was told I would get a job when at the last second the hiring manager switched jobs, new manager came in and on his first day told me he was going in a different direction and hired one of his guys. I wrote my email and was set to leave until the VP gave me a call, told me to wait 20 mins - magically I had my transfer set up for a role with less responsibility but they matched my pay. 20 minutes got more done than I did in 6 months, but still was a pretty cool feeling knowing someone higher up cared enough to read essentially an F U email to the company and instead of ignoring it he spent the time to call me, figure out what went wrong, and fix the problem. That's why I'll stay with this company, one move makes a big impact.
