The 1997 Rose Bowl had a great ending too:

With 1:19 remaining, starting from their own 35-yard line, Ohio State needed a touchdown. The Buckeyes remained calm, however, for they had confidence in their offense led by the young, brash Germaine.

Germaine responded well to the pressure by connecting with Stanley on three third down plays on the drive, before finally hitting David Boston from five yards out with 20 seconds left with the game winner. The Buckeyes were Rose Bowl champions, and Germaine would be named the game's Most Outstanding Player. The win propelled the fourth-ranked Buckeyes to an 11-1 record and the No. 2 spot in the final polls.

Just my opinion but the two aren't even in the same zip code.

The 1997 Rose Bowl win was a nice salve on the burn of yet another Cooper-choke-job-to-scUM ruined season. Arguably the worst and most unforgivable of his far too lengthy body of work. The loss to scUM that year keeps me from being able to actually just enjoy that Rose Bowl game to this very day.

The Holy Buckeye was like a last minute reprieve from the governor (or Senator). All game long you had that same old "here we go again" feeling that a great season was about to be ruined by some team we had no business losing to. Then all of a sudden a miracle went our way for once, Coopers legacy was in the past and it felt like you could honestly believe that good things were going to happen again for the first time in decades.

The feeling after they actually beat Miami was more like relief. The Holy Buckeye was the moment it was o.k. to believe it really could happen. One of the top 5 moments of pure unadulterated joy in my lifetime.

At the time, I had so many mixed emotions about these plays and wins. Now I miss them. Those are the stories I'll be telling my kids about when they're old enough to want to be regaled about Jim Tressel's first BCS championship.

i can remember this game as if it were played just yesterday...i lived on 14th and summit at the time...i remember missing the entire first half because i slept in and then waking up to ohio state being down at halftime...like someone previously posted, the explosion of cheers on campus after jenkins caught that TD could be heard all the way from 10th and high to hudson and high and beyond...it was amazing and a special experience to be apart of
