Well after seeing this game, I think we see why Oregon should not of been in a BCS bowl. They can't give the excuse they didnt care, b/c they came out fired up and they had plenty of fans there supporting them.

As for Chokelahoma, they tried to gift wrap this game for Oregon, all they had to do was keep pounding the ball, they were controlling the LOS. Instead they let Bomar try and throw which he better get a lot better b4 next year or they are going to have an up and down year again in Norman.

After watching about a week of bowl games I cannot believe all these teams that cannot just finish a game, I see teams up 27(BC) that instead of just pounding the ball and running the clock they try and throw it, and they should of lost, but BSU couldnt finish either as they had a golden oppurtunity. Same with scUM last nite. They fumble the ball and throw ints instead of just pounding it and running the clock. Who cares if you arent getting first downs you are wasting the clock and then making the other team go a longer distance to score.

Hey guys, I just want to let you know that this team was a completely different team with Clemens and would have blown out Oklahoma. I'm not making an excuse for them, just reminding you guys this wasn't the same team we saw during the first 2/3 of the season.

Cal had injury issues last year too, but that won't stop people from drawing conclusions about the conference.

On the other side, Oklahoma was looking like a bit of a MASH unit themselves though. Not the same as missing your #1 QB, but they were clearly banged up.

True, everyone has injuries but it hurts when your all-american caliber quarterback goes down for the rest of the season.

Well he still would of been under all that pressure, this game wasnt put on the QB's IMO it was more on the o-line.

Not saying they wouldnt of won, but there wouldnt of been a blowout.

If anything, if OU would of ran the ball all nite, right down Oregon's throat it could of gotten ugly.

In the weeks leading up to the BCS selections, I kept saying that it was ridiculous to even consider Oregon for a BCS bowl, and this game proved me correct. The main argument was that they only had lost one game, so of course they deserved the BCS bid over us, since we'd lost two games. How fallacious such logic is. Oregon did nothing impressive all year long. In their only game against a ranked team, they lost by 32. Sure they had 10 wins during the regular season, but those wins came against zero ranked teams. Their best win was against a team who lost to Nevada and Louisiana-Lafayette. And tonight they proved just how mediocre they really are, losing to an unranked 7-4 Oklahoma team.

Let's recap. Last year, a 1 loss Cal team complained that they were left out of the BCS, and they promptly showed that they had no business in the BCS by losing to a mediocre Texas Tech team in the Holiday Bowl. This year, a 1 loss Oregon team complained that they were left out of the BCS, and they promptly showed that they had no business in the BCS by losing to a mediocre Oklahoma team in the Holiday Bowl.

I hope that those members of the media who were saying last year that Cal deserved a BCS bowl and were saying this year that Oregon deserved a BCS bowl have been paying attention. Consistently losing against middle of the road teams from other conferences shows that Pac-10 teams other than USC do not belong in the college football elite and have no business being in a BCS bowl, even if they only have one loss. Hopefully, those on the BCS bowl selection commitees will remember these two Holiday Bowls before giving a Pac-10 team an at-large bid in the future.
