It's never been like this tho. Even when they had a garbage Chris Simms, they had Cedric Benson carrying the load and a good defense. Just hard to figure out how they went from a crazy streak of 10 win seasons, the last of which being an MNC appearance, to 5-7 and 7-5 and looking like complete crap doing it. Nothing but top 5 recruiting classes and same head coach. Mack is going the way of Bobby Bowden.

Kind of reminds me of the fall during Cooper's last two years.

Can't believe I watched this entire game.

Texas went PS3 style and blitzed every down in the 2nd half and Cal couldn't pick up anything. I don't know how many times they were 2nd or 3rd and double sticks.

Someone said this should give them a springboard into next season. I know for one that I didn't see anything last night that leads me to believe that they're going to be wholesale better after 15 spring practices

Watching my recording of this game, I am intrigued by the body language of the defense. They are obliterating Cal, but after a great sack or punt forcing stop, the defender either "swaggers" alone or gets 1-2 mild high fives, the kind a missed extra point would elicit. They seem to be 11 individuals rather than a unit.

The D coordinator had wayyy more energy last night than some of their guys did

This game sucks. They're playing all puckered-up like they don't want to make mistakes. Neither team is good enough to not make mistakes, and this game doesn't matter anyway. Give us an onside kick. Force a turnover and give it right back on the same play. Run a double reverse on your own five yard line. Rough a kicker on 4th & 29. Just do something interesting please.

I hope the we aren't subjected to more of the same during the Gator Bowl.
