High School Hilliard Davidson Wildcats

OK!

I finally have my pick. This will be another classic, if not better than last years. This is the best offense Davidson has faced all year and that will show. But this is a different davidson team, and they will not let Kilbourne win 2 in a row.

Davidson 35-30

This has the potential to be either a close game or a blow out in favor of St.X. Davidson has to open up the offense and do some different things this week if they hope to keep up with these guys.

Haywood can't do it all by himself. Not this week.

You are absolutley right. First, St. X doesn't know a whole lot on Davidson so that plays toour advantage.

Curtis must be more effective as a passer. Last week we threw 3 times. 1 big play, 1 incompletion, and 1 INT.

And finally, this defense must play the game of their lives. If they can stop Ashley (no easy task), they may just have a shot.

17-16 Davidson (larger wins it)

No.

Coach Specht at St. X is known for being obsessive when it comes to watching film...trust me, when Davidson steps onto the field Saturday, there will be no one left unaccounted for. In fact, in postgame press conferences when asked about the next game, he always talks about some key players for the other team. He's scouted everyone in advance and knows what needs to be done in practice in order to ensure that his players are prepared when they step on the field. The St. X coaching staff prides themselves on preparing their kids the best they can in order to put them in a position to win.

If a 28-21 win was the best you could do against Westerville...you're in trouble. X beat 52-7. Starters were out at halftime, and the one TD against us came against the 3rd string D. St. X's defense is practically impenetrable. Ask anyone that has faced X, everyone thought coming in they had a chance if they could execute, but no one has been able to because the X defense is quick to the ball and gang tackles extremely well.

From what I've heard, HD relies on a grind it out style of offense, trying to pick up 3-4 yards per play. That just won't work against X, it has not all year. The only chance teams have is to get a few big plays and somehow stop our offense. Because of the constant pressure applied by the X defense, QBs don't have enough time to get off a long gain, and the collective quickness often keeps run plays from getting past the line of scrimmage, much less busted open for large gains.

This game will be a blowout. X can pick the score in this one. I'd look for it to be somewhere around 35-7, with the backups getting a little PT once the outcome is determined, so as not to injure the starters for the championship game.
