Herbstreit rips U-M on radio

His comments when read in context....were no big deal. I didn't HEAR them so I could not get the benefit of voice inflection. M's offense is not playing well right now. He said their defense can't just line up and dominate. He didn't say their defense wasn't good. Just that you can't shut down an offense like this.

All that being said, I have a sort of eerie feeling. Michigan as an underdog, everyone in the country saying they can't win. Reminds me of a couple 28-0 beatings from the 90's. Mike Hart running all over the field like Tim Biaka-whatever his name was.

Apparently, BRx is worthless too.

I think we should just agree to disagree.

This subject isn't that important to keep arguing over.

lighten up, it's football. he's worthless in football, not in life, and not in spirit.

an announcer can say whatever they want, they let mushmouth spout on and on about Notre Dame, I think Steve can handle someone complaining about his talent. And if he can't, he shouldn't even be on the field.

go have a drink and calm down.

Listen guys,

If Herbstreit just had a job on a radio show in Columbus, there would be nothing wrong with what he said. However HE IS an employee of ESPN, and one of the faces of college football. When you are in that position, you have to be careful with everything you say.

Is this really that big a deal? No. Should he have any suspensions/fines against him, probably night. However, with the type of job he has, calling a college athlete "worthless" (yes even if it is just in football) is out of line. He knows he should not have said what he said.

Is it a double standard? Yes it is, but welcome to America.

Again, it's not that big of a deal, just my "unbiased" opinon.

So, were you also giving your "unbiased" opinion of professionalism so vehemently when various ESPN talking heads were bashing Tressel and Geiger during Clarett's run of lies?

Somehow, I doubt it.

OK. That did it. I am sick and tired of Kirk Herbstreit taking the opposing team's side every time we play a ranked program. It's just totally unacceptable.

To all of the folks who keep hangin' that on Herbie, did I get that right?

Hey, Herbstreit! Who loves ya now!

Wasn't Herbie one of the first people out there calling scUM the #2 team in the country over the last couple months? I think he just wants to see The Game at its most epic proportions, with both teams at completely full strength, and everybody knows that just can't happen with Breaston starting instead of Manningham.

Why do people think bulletin board material is even necessary for a game like this? If you need news clippings of former players now analysts criticizing your team in order to get up for the game, then you aren't worth a damn in the first place.

This can't possibly be this important...

You really shouldn't tell Jesus to STFU. It's not nice and he has connections.

This thread is [strike]worthless[/strike] "underutilized."
