Helmet Stickers / Buckeye Leaves (all merged)

MililaniBuckeye;910975; said:
Nope. The stickers on his helmet do indeed have black leaves, but are they black because of fading or because they were black to begin with? quote]

They're BLACK b/c they always were black! How the hell is a "dark green" going to fade to black?

YOU'RE BUYING BEERS IN SEATTLE!

You're MISSING THE PT! If the K value (black) on the BLACK STRIPE is equal to the K value on the leaves doesn't that make them the same? Even when you look at the values after you lightened picture they are BOTH in the mid to high 40% range. Not only the K values but even the CMY values are relatively the same in BOTH the stripe and the leaves!

THEY'RE BLACK!

So eyedropper values count now? When looking at your own pics, and AJ's helmet, they showed a clear hunter green value.

BTW, you might try looking at those colors again.

Here's two circles, one from the strip, one from the leaf.

Now here's what happens when you brighten that program, since obviously that is far darker than it's actual color (I haven't seen many buckeye jerseys that look like faded maroon).

That sure looks like hunter green to me. Notice how the black stripe stayed gray when lightened.

I'll make that statement.

One isn't green - it's black.

The other one's green.

Who cares what some number says? Your eyes say otherwise. When you lighten the leaf, it becomes unmistakably green. When you lighten the helmet stripe, it remains unmistakeably black (or a shade of it).

This is the second time I've shown that the leaves are clearly green. Last time, I didn't lighten the colors at all.

Looking at the RAW file unedited and depending on which leaf you choose and where you're sampling from you can find almost IDENTICAL RGB and CMYK values for the leaf and the stripe at any given sampling area. Since EVERYONE agrees we have BLACK stripes and since they're values are almost identical you have to reason the leaves are black too!

That is god awful logic. He's showing you they are green. Just because you can find a picture where you steal 1 dark pixel and compare it to a black pixel doesn't mean that they are black. They're still green....the picture is just showing them as dark. Dark enough to be confused with black until somebody lightens the picture and shows you (twice now) that they're green. The one on your helmet may very well be black, but the ones in use today and the ones they've been selling as "The same ones on the real helmets" are green.

I got two sheets of the official stickers for free after an order from the team shop a few years ago... Definitely green...
I've seen the helmet stickers they sell at College Traditions as well, the exact same one's they use on the helmet's, and seeing them up close in person and not on a computer screen they're 100% hunter greeen. I guess it's possible they would sell helmet sticker's that are a different color than the one's they use on the field, but I doubt it.

Likewise the pixels may appear "not black" because they're right next to "white" pixels on the leaf stickers.
Your are correct about this, however, someone here had one that was on their steering wheel last year that was DEFINITELY a "fake"...It was CLEARLY GREEN. May be that was you? I'd know the picture if I saw it.

The CURRENT LEAVES (since that's what was the ORIGINAL topic), are clearly different than the BLACK ones as I and Mili have stated. So it's FINALLY settled right? THEY'RE BLACK!:tongue2:
