damn that sounds high, but its NYC too

our house is approximately 2k sq ft, and we have gas heat. our budget is 90 (just got lowered) and we keep the house at 73-74 in the winter.

you are so going to get dinged on your "compensation" bill at the end of your budget year.. just a heads up..

21, weren't you going to pay a bill in pennies once? maybe that was Loky... hmm, either way, funny as shit to pay a 500 dollar bill in pennies...

As for the electric bill in question here, there is no way in hell that is correct...

We have electric heat here. In Maryland, there was a 60% or so hike on electric rates last June. Our provider is BGE (Baltimore Gas & Electric) and they have a deferred payment plan where they take 30% or so of your bill and defer the payment a year or two in the future and charge interest. You may NOT opt out of the plan and pay your full bill up front.

Lawyers, is there a possible lawsuit here? This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of; forced deferral of payment...

For a reverse comparison, I live in Soutern Louisiana. I have a 3000 sq ft single story home with 12 foot and cathedral ceilings. Last year we had 40 some days in a row of 90 degree plus temps with no rain. The A/C ran 24/7 most of that time. My electric bill topped out that month at $350. Something ain't right in NYC.
