2-year-old orders 31 cheeseburgers after mom leaves phone unlocked

Kelsey Golden's 2-year-old son Barrett used her phone while she was working to order 31 cheeseburgers on DoorDash.
A Texas mother learned an important lesson about leaving her phone unlocked after her 2-year-old son accidentally ordered 31 McDonald's cheeseburgers from DoorDash.

On Monday, Kelsey Golden, who works in media marketing for a school, was working on the school's annual yearbook on her computer at home. She was transferring photos from her phone to her computer when her 2-year-old son Barrett started "yanking" on her phone, she told CNN.

Golden explained that her son loves the camera feature on her phone. "He likes to look at his reflection," she said, instead of playing games or doing other activities on her phone.

But this time, Barrett didn't just stare at his reflection. "He starts pressing the screen, swinging it around like his arm is a roller coaster," she said.

Then, Golden received a notification that her DoorDash order was taking longer than usual -- which was unusual, because although she sometimes ordered DoorDash for her two older children's lunches at school, that morning she had packed their lunches.
A work colleague furthered the confusion when she told Golden that her children were indeed eating their packed lunches at school -- no DoorDash in sight.

"Right as she said that, I was outside playing with Barrett on the porch," she said. "A car pulls in and I was like, 'what'? so I went over to it, and she gets out a giant McDonald's bag and is like '31 cheeseburgers?'"

At first, Golden said, she thought the delivery driver was at the wrong house. "Then it dawned on me that Barrett was playing with my phone," she said. "I went back and looked at my phone and an order was placed at that time that he was playing with my phone."

"I thought, oh my gosh, he really did this."

The accidental order was even more out of place because "no one in our family likes cheeseburgers," said Golden. So she posted on her town Facebook page offering free cheeseburgers.

"It kind of blew up from there."

"One woman came by, she was pregnant and wanted six of them," she said. "No judgment."

She added that she also donated some cheeseburgers to neighbors.
The total order came out to $91.70, in part because Barret left a "really generous" 25 percent tip, said Golden.

She said she had "no idea" that the mishap would go viral. On Friday, she and Barrett were invited to a meet-up with McDonald's staff, where her son was able to meet the company mascots, take photos, and enjoy some chicken nuggets.

Golden hopes that her son's "fluke" order helps brighten people's days.

"I hope it spreads a little humor in a sad dark world," she said.

Suspicious that her husband was having an extra-marital affair, a woman hired five goons to gang-rape her “rival” and film the entire act, Cyberabad police said.

The incident took place at Sriramnagar Colony in Kondapur, a suburb in western Hyderabad, on Thursday (May 26). Police said the main accused, Gayatri, had hatched the plan to exact revenge on the woman with whom her husband was allegedly having an affair.

According to Cyberabad Police, Gayatri's husband Srikanth and the victim became friends while preparing for the UPSC examinations. The victim used to visit the couple’s house quite often and also stayed there from October 2021 to February 2022.

However, things got ugly when Gayatri started suspecting that her husband and the victim were having an affair. After several alterations with Srikanth’s wife, the victim moved out of the house.

In her complaint to the police, the victim alleged that on May 26, Gayatri invited her to her house. Once she got there, five hired goons allegedly gangraped her. The men also filmed the act, and threatened the victim with dire consequences if she approached the police, before letting her off.

Police arrested six people, including the main accused Gayatri, after a complaint was registered. Further investigation is underway.

NEW YORK - A serial shoe snatcher is stealing shoes off of women walking on the streets of New York City.

The NYPD says he has struck at least three times since the beginning of the year. The man takes one shoe and flees, according to cops.

On Jan. 24 at about 9 a.m., the suspect followed a 24-year-old woman into a mixed commercial and residential building at 739 Utica Avenue in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, and removed her right shoe before taking off.

On Feb. 9 at about 11:05 a.m., the victim was going up the street staircase at the Grand Army subway station in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn when the man ripped the left Nike sneaker off the foot of the 24-year-old woman.

The suspect then ran into the train station, jumped the turnstile, and fled onto a train. The woman did not suffer any injuries.

On May 24 at about 12:15 p.m., the suspect removed the left shoe of a 24-year-old woman inside the Rego Center shopping plaza at 96-05 Queens Boulevard in Rego Park.

Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down the suspect in these unusual robberies.

Following the theft at the Grand Army subway station, police described the suspect as male, black, 20 to 30 years old, 5'10" and 220lbs.

He was wearing a gray knit cap, a gray vest, a blue sweater, blue jeans, and white sneakers.

That’s fowl.

A hangry Florida man carjacked a Wendy’s customer at gunpoint — for refusing to buy him chicken nuggets, according to reports.

Miami-Dade police said the victim had just parked his car and was heading into the fast-food chain when John Earl Taylor, 34, asked him to buy him some food.

The victim explained that he only had enough money to purchase his own meal and went into the eatery, according to Local 10.

As he returned to his vehicle after eating, Taylor again approached him — this time brandishing a semi-automatic pistol with an extended magazine.

Coveting more than nuggets at this point, Taylor ordered the victim to hand over his gold chain and car keys before speeding off in the vehicle, according to reports.

A burglary detective spotted the stolen car parked nearby Friday morning, but Taylor hopped in and fled as backup units arrived at the scene.

John Earl Taylor is facing multiple felony charges including armed robbery and fleeing police.
Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabil
With cops now giving chase, Taylor eventually crashed the car and was taken into custody.

He now faces a slew of felony raps, including armed robbery, driving without a license and fleeing police.

Atlanta Subway employee shot dead by customer in argument over mayo

ATLANTA - An argument over mayonnaise at a Downtown Atlanta Subway ended with one worker dead and another in the hospital.

Police say the shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. at a Subway located at a gas station on Northside Drive Southwest.

Dispute over mayonnaise ends with Atlanta Subway employees shot
Police say a customer killed one worker at a Downtown Atlanta Subway and sent another to the hospital over an argument about the amount of mayo on his sandwich.

The owner of the Subway says the reason for the shooting was something small: a customer was mad about mayo.

"Believe it or not, it was about too much mayonnaise on his sandwich," owner Willie Glenn said.

In this argument, police say the customer shot two Subway employees, leaving a 26-year-old woman dead and another 24-year-old woman rushed to surgery in critical condition. Atlanta police have arrested a 36-year-old man.

"He decided to escalate the situation and from there — that's when all hell broke loose," Glenn said.

Glenn said the injured employee's 5-year-old son was inside the store when the shooting started.

Glenn said the manager on duty returned fire at the suspect, but wasn't able to hit him.

"I don't know what the world is coming to especially with our youth. They seem to be so hot headed," he said. "Everybody wants to carry a gun. Everybody wants to scare somebody wit ha gun. It's scary out here."

Crime scene tape surrounded the Subway as police investigated. The gunfire also shattered a window at the front of the store.

We’ve learned from one of the store owners the critically wounded employee is the sister of the woman killed.

All of this happened in front of the woman’s 5-year-old son.

"We don’t need people like that in society. If he’s willing to kill someone over mayonnaise then what else would he do," Glenn said.

There were plenty of emotions at the restaurant on Northside Drive on Monday afternoon. Gerald Rose is the President of New Order National Human Rights Organization.

"That could have been my grandkid that lost their life over mayo and I don’t understand," Rose said.

Glenn said the two women in their 20s were sisters who had just started working at the store three weeks ago.

"It escalated in the store. He walked out the store and started shooting in the store and that’s when he hit one of my employees," Willie Glenn said.

This all taking place in front of the worker’s five-year-old son, who watched his mom get shot. The child was back at the scene with a relative Monday as his mom is in critical condition at a local hospital.

"It was very senseless. Yes, too much mayo on a sandwich but an individual with a gun who thought that was the course of action to resolve about a sandwich," Atlanta Police Deputy Chief Charles Hampton Jr. said.

Atlanta police have praised a witness who gave them crucial information that lead to the arrest.

Police have not released the name of the man arrested or the name of the woman killed.

If you have any information that could help investigators with the case, call the Atlanta Police Department.
