I didn’t know whether to put this tweet in the offense or defense thread since it pertained to both. So I put it here. OSU has lost a bunch of veteran talent, but what’s being lost to most of the national media is that the new starters were on the team last year and all got actual game reps. Guys like MacDonald, Reese, Curry, Jackson, Matthew and Inniss have all been with the program for multiple years and have been hungry for an actual shot at real PT. 2 QBs who will be 1st time FT starters but have been with program as well and know what Day and Hartline will expect.
Add in the experienced transfers like: Onianwa, Atkinson, Klare, and Donaldson who have played D1 CFB as starters to fill in much needed vacancies. And then throw in 2 of the most talented players in the country in JJ and Caleb. Theres very few teams in the country I see with as much talent top to bottom. Not to mention, HUNGRY talent who want to be the 1st OSU team in 4yrs to beat scUM.

And a coaching staff that is second to none in every game except one. Gonna change this year and go undefeated for a repeat.

If Day and Ohio State are able to beat Michigan and make it to the Big Ten Championship Game this year, it feels like it’ll almost be impossible to keep the Coach of the Year award in the conference away from Day. The Buckeyes aren’t really seen as runaway favorites this season since Penn State returns a ton of talent in their backfield.
There are more questions than answers with Ohio State this year since they’ll have a new starting quarterback, two new running backs, as well as a pretty green defensive line. If Day is able to go back-to-back with this team, he is free to coach the Buckeyes for as long as he wants to.
In the end does it really matter if Day wins Big Ten Coach of the Year? Aside from the contract bonus and the recognition for a job well done, Day and the Buckeyes have bigger goals this season. I’m sure the voters in the Big Ten will find some coach this year to give the award to who has a better story than Day because they resurrected a program that had been struggling for a while.
Buckeye Nation knows they have one of the top coaches in college football, and even though it has been trendy to call for Ohio State to move on from Day at times over the last couple of years, it’s hard to imagine the program finding someone better than who is leading their program right now.

Right. Not to mention we added another fuckin conference full of coaches that haven't won yet.

I think I'd have the arm strength of Dwayne Haskins and mobility of Justin Fields. But who am I to argue with coach

I would put JT in that mix also. Say what you want about his passing. etc. But Barret was the undisputed leader of that team during his half century tenure. I'll never forget him after scoring in that comeback 1 point win over the Pedsters in 2017 in the Shoe running down the sideline screaming "Our House !"at everyone on the sideline.
