Eh that ND game was everything but a blowout.

First play of the 4th Quarter up 31-15, Howard hits Egbuka who’s about to get inside the 20 before fumbling. Bucks had scored on all 5 possessions before that. And they were probably about to go up 38-15 with 12-13 minutes left. Day seemed in blowout mode there. Then it did get tighter (3rd and 11) before a justified 34-23 final.

Texas game was definitely close (think we punted on 6/10 possessions). That took some big dudes with even bigger cajones that never gave an inch. Also…Sark being Sark.

Anyway, I agree with the general premise that Day has not let it hang in the last 3 losses. Bucks are getting suffocated and bullied while opponents take it to them and his team shrinks.

Don’t think they can let it hang until Sayin sees the whole field. They had 2-3 chances at wide open TDs and he didn’t see it. I really like Sayin and he will continue to grow, but until that happens, defenses will get away with coverage busts and blitzing. If you can’t make them pay, you’re going to struggle to score more than ~20 points in these big games.

ummmmm It doesn't appear that Day is "keeps on winning" these tough games. More like he can't "keeps on losing" these games he should have won.
I don't believe I've ever been more disappointed in a Buckeye Coach. Sigh

I think John Cooper will always firmly hold that title.

We went from having an absolutely loaded roster preseason #1 in 1998, to that choke job against sparty costing a national title.......to those 2 absolute abortions of 99 and 2000 seasons in the blink of an eye. And that's without mentioning his overall track record against scUM

Day would have to completly crater to 6-8 win seasons to be in the conversation.

2000, it looked like maybe we were on the rebound with a 5-0 start, they had just dominated a top 25 Wisconsin team @ Wisconsin.......And then Cooper managed to lose by 2 scores to freaking Minnesota (who finished 6-6) AT HOME.

Day has had some big issues in big games, but at least he's never given us that kind of disappointment.

I was alive for Wayne Woodrow Hayes lol. and yes, Cooper jumped into my Brain instantly. But somehow This is worse.

It probably just feels that way just because we've been so spoiled.

It's been 15 years since we lost more than 2 games in a season and since Cooper left we've only lost over 2 games in a season 4 times in 25 years. This has probably made some forget actually how disappointing those Cooper years truly were at the time.
