Look, I'm not at all happy with the past few years either. But there's a lot to consider with Ryan Day.
- He's dealt with the absolute peak of Michigan football the past few years. That's over now.
- Michigan also cheated the previous 2 games and quit in 2020. This cannot be ignored.
- The Big Ten is removing divisions next season. This means OSU will be playing in the Big Ten Championship Game 9+ times a decade.
- The CFP is moving to 12 teams next season. This means OSU will be in the CFP 9+ times a decade.
- Gene Smith retires in a few months. He's not firing Ryan Day in his last act as AD.
- A brand new AD is not going to fire Ryan Day in his first act as AD.
Look, I said this last year and I'll say it again: if it were up to me, and Mike Vrabel wanted to come home, I'd seriously consider it. At this point, I'd probably even do it.
But being realistic, it just isn't going to happen now. Ryan Day will be our coach next season unless he decides he'd rather coach elsewhere.
