Hawaii Football: Offensive Juggernaut? Let's Discuss...

but they don't produce any offense :roll1:

Why did I know you'd be the first to reply? Hawaii only failed to crack 32 points in one game (their season opener six time zones away in Alabama) last year, compared to being held to 17 points or less four times the previous season. The also scored 61+ points four times in a five-game stretch last year, compared to only one 60+ point game in the previous four seasons (52 games) and that came in the 2002 season opener against I-AA Eastern Illinois. I'd say the offense is definitely improved over previous years. Brennan is light-years ahead of Chang...

Mili appears to be swapping sides of the argument.

And how is that? Hawaii wasn't a true juggernaught prior to last year because they had a habit of getting shut down numerous times. Last year, with the exception of their season opener almost 5,000 miles and six time zones away, they scored a ton all year long and score far more than they did in previous seasons.

i think hawaii is a solid team, but their defense leaves much to be desired. I won't rag on them for ONLY scoring 20 points in a game....since when is 20 points in a game something to cry about? The defense is what needs to be worked on. They just lack talent as a whole on their defensive unit. Offensively, they have a suitable enough offense to get the job done, except against top tier teams like USC who makes their one dimensional passing scheme go more run oriented, and then they are just out of their stength. I don't doubt hawaii. I hope they do well and make a strong bowl and maybe then they can put themselves on the map in a noticeable fashion and play in something other than the hawaii bowl every year.
