one of my classics

I was having a baseball practice.. and my middle child was due so I wanted to get home... so I decided to speed things up by having my asst coach pitch and I was catching... no helmet.. and we're crankin along... fastball comes zippin in.. kid tips it.. right above my catchers mitt and into my glasses.. 7 stitches.. I looked great in the delivery room...

now I don't catch and had the eye surgery... see how smart you get with experience

When I was 3, my older brother was sick and I guess I was pissing him off, so he shoved me and I tripped over something and fell back and hit my head on the edge of the brick in front of the fireplace. Well, weirdly enough my mom was already at the hospital and she was about to have my little sister. So my dad rushed me to the hospital holding a washcloth on my head to try and stop the blood and then I got some stitches. So my sister was born while I was in the same hospital getting my head stitched up.

So to answer the question in a shorter way, yes I've had stitches.

More times than I can recall. Two of my better ones though

1) age 6 while running down small slope in our yard I slipped and fell and slid under the the blade of my Dads riding lawn mower. Took 2 good chunks out of my leg and the skin off my ankle before my Dad could roll it off me. Got a bunch of stitches from that.

2) Brain Surgery - they shaved off half my head, and then sewed it up with what looked like butchers twine after. My head looked like a football.

Never had stitches.

But I have broke my foot and ankle. Painfully, at the same time. Before that, I had never heard of someone breaking both their foot and ankle at the same time.

I blame my running troubles on that. I still have times were out of the blue, I will go into pain when I run.

Good think you are on the "swim" team, and not the "track" team then.

discalimer; I just thought I would work that in for him.

I had 5 right above my eye - caught a nice elbow while playing basketball.

Another time, I split my chin open and should have gotten at least 5 to close that up, but it was Saturday afternoon, so I went out drinking instead of to the hospital. (And I'd do the same thing again.)

Nice work.

I've had 17 stiches to my right cheek, right underneath my eye. Got hit by a fist with a chain wrapped around it. Punk Bitch. Anyway, should've had stitches a few other times, but didn't. I got a nice scar on my right inside forearm from installing razor wire on top of the Licking Co. Jail.

I have had plenty of stitches. A couple in the corner of my eye, a piece of dry wall was stuck in my eye. I had a few in my lip, my fingers, my leg.

I've had 2 elbow surgeries due to baseball, so my elbow has been stapled and stitched.

2 of my favorites:

1) When I was 14 (Thump was 15) and we were practicing run downs at practice. It was a 1st and 3rd situation and I thought I would be the smart one and when Thump got close, I ducked and tried to spin back under him. My hand hit the ground and Thump stepped on with metal spikes. I had 7 stitches on the top f my hand and a few in my fingers.....he mangled my hand, but I was the dumb ass who put his hand on the ground. What an idiot.

2) It was my first weekend at college(Marietta, OH) I knew a couple guys from HS on the FB team. They were having a party and bought be a bottle of Firewater to welcome me to college. I was only 17 and thought I was being cool, so I drank 7-8 beers before going to the party. When I got to their house I drank the entire bottle of Firewater. It was so good when it hit my lips. I was going home with some lucky girl and the next thing I know it was 6:00 AM and I am leaving the hospital in my boxers. I ended up getting 12 staples on the top of my head. The girl I was with said I dropped my keys, bent over to pick them up and when I stood up I hit my head on an old phone booth sticking out of the wall. I guess it was a mess.

Some side notes to this story: I was 17, so the hospital had to call my parents due to me being a minor.....that didn't go over too well.

I was scheduled to play in a scrimmage at 9:00 AM on Sunday. I didn't get back to the dorm until after 6:00 AM. After an hour of sleep I made it to the field to debut for the Marietta College Etta Express. I was batting second in the line-up and when I was on deck in the bottom of the first, I had to run from the on-deck circle and puke behind the dugout. I went 3-4 that day, but Coach Schaly knew what was going on. When he called me later that day, he didn't fall for me having the flu. I was a member of the 20 lap club the entire fall my FR year. What a start to my college career.

I haven't been able to eat or drink anything that smells remotely close to cinnamon.

I had about 8 stitches in the tip of my index finger on my left hand where it was sewn back on at the first knuckle after my cousin literally smashed the finger tip completely off with a cinder block. We were both in the 2nd grade at the time.
