I only know of one year where my high school even made the playoffs. We promptly took a first-round roadtrip down to Friendly High School (school that the Haden brothers attend) and were promptly smacked to a count of about 41-3.

p.s. Don't let the name of the high school fool you. Very little about that area was friendly. Hell, I was scared to visit the portajohns seeing that they were on the home side of the field. :paranoid:

Yep, 1994. Buckeye Local. Played Chardon, lost 17-6. Our team had never seen turf before, and it really caused alot of problems. Chardon ran the option constantly, and damn were they good at it.

I was so proud though. This area of Ohio is not known for great football other than Steubenville. Was nice to get so far, even though it was a shame to lose.

The Valley isnt known for football???

Ferry, Bellaire, The Ville...

isn't columbus grove up by lima?
It's north of Lima, but isn't really a "Lima school" Of course neither was my high school (Allen East) and we were only a couple of miles from the city.

We made the playoffs for the first time my eighth grade year (89-90). Went 9-1 during the season and lost in the first round 7-6 to Country Day(I think that was their name). My freshman year we went 10-0 and played Versailles in the first round. The week leading up to the game our starting Fullback/Middle Linebacker got in a fight with his girlfriend and took it out on a locker...the locker won. He was out, and Versailles proceeded to run right where he would have been, the entire game. We lost by six points, and that was the closest game Versailles had in their playoff run to the State championship. If that fucker would have been in, our iso right, iso left type of offense might have done better as well. Oh well. Woulda, shoulda, coulda.

After those years we have teetered between mediocre and festering turd.:sick1:

what school?

St. Vincent - St. Mary in Akron. I believe Frank Stams was on both teams in the early 80's. He later starred on Notre Dame's NC team in the mid-80s and in the NFL for a period. Jason Simmons played on the 88 team. That team was just a bunch of kids with a good amount of talent that truly played as a team. Individually they had less talent than the class before them, who had a losing record in 87.

PS - We also have won a few basketball championships.
