I thought Schiano had a red ass, his team played like he was running a kindergarten.

While I'm ecstatic to land Fields, I am crushed to lose Grinch. Temple has gone in full drag feet mode, Schiano now looking to hop to the NFL, and all of this has affected Grinch.
Or maybe Day prefers Schiano over Grinch and this is what he prefers?
Anything is possible! Although that would surprise me. Or maybe he has someone totally different in mind other than those 2.
These guys are reasonably well plugged in to the WHAC (I think).
Ohio State: How Alex Grinch departure impacts Buckeyes, defensive future
I'm a little surprised to see so many (myself included at times) turn on Schiano. He coordinated a couple of really good defenses in 2016-17, and most were thrilled when tennessee fan went full twitter-tard and we got him back. The dude can coach. For whatever reason, he and Grinch (and a horrific LB unit) did not mesh. If he's the only cook in the kitchen again and we get a competent LB coach, I'd be surprised if there isn't significant improvement next season.Anything is possible! Although that would surprise me. Well, in fairness to Greg, we don't know what's going on behind the walls of the WHAC. He was always a "Meyer Guy", so i don't think anyone can say with any certainty that Day wants him or not. I'd lean towards wanting to keep him because he has a strong track record, is an excellent recruiter and a ton of experience that could help a first time HC. But, I'd also understand if Day wants to bring in his own guy.If he's going to commit to Ohio State, id take him all day.
But that's the rub... we're a stepping stone but he's failed to make that step and its left both parties in a precarious state.
At this point he needs to either accept being a DC at Ohio State is the best job he can find... or gtfo.

Sure, GS was a "Meyer guy", but I think Bill Davis was the biggest "Meyer guy" on the staff.Well, in fairness to Greg, we don't know what's going on behind the walls of the WHAC.
